    You guys (and gal) are crushing it!! Congrats to everyone who has been successful so far.

    I drove out to my lease last night and sat all day today. 2 small bucks and a handful of does and fawns. Beats not seeing anything at all, but it was a cold 11 hours in a tree.....

    Taking tomorrow and Weds off to make sure things are good in the office, then I'll probably hunt Thurs morning. Friday starts firearms season here, so I'll be sticking to my Lake County spot that is bow-only this weekend. I've traditionally had good luck bowhunting during the first gun weekend, so I guess we'll see what happens. Can't get a whole lot worse than it's been.

    So here's my buck. I was planning sitting all day Sunday, the morning was slow buck wise there was plenty of does/fawns though. Around 1:30 I was checking my fantasy football scores and caught some movement and it was a good buck! So I grunted at him and he looked back and just kept going away he didn't respond to the grunts. So I grabbed the antlers and cracked those a little and shortly after had a buck trotting up from the farm yard I walked in from. He was a smaller 8, he came in downwind of me and must have caught scent and took off to the North where he ran by the buck that I would eventually shoot and he basically took same trail the other buck took off on and I smoked him @15 yards he ran maybe 20. I super happy with him it was a fun hunt! Definitely made the 4 hour trip out there worth it.

    I'll be back in the woods, or that is swamp, this weekend. My cousin saw a 'basket 8' and missed (hit a tree) on what he claims is a 150-160 12 point last weekend, says he was set up next to his bedroom. That swamp is only about 5 acres surrounded by mostly hardwoods and recent clearcut. I don't think that buck went anywhere for long, he'll be back this weekend. Cousin and I are going to play the wind and surround him. May the best man win.

    It's rifle season, bucks pile in there after gun starts, same place my dad killed a 180" with a rifle back in '09. I will be using the crossbow. Compromise.

    @Justin
    if you and I both put 100" deer on the ground this weekend, we could take a decent contest lead 3 weeks into November.
    I would also settle on you getting a doe and me crushing that 150"er I just referenced.

    I hunted this morning and once again did not see a deer. The universe is not happy with me for some reason.

    Half day sit tomorrow, where I too won't see deer.

    Wind doesn't look favorable to suit on my property with my bow... I may dress like a pumpkin and sit on public...

    I feel your pain. People are posting pics of hammers walking by their trail cameras and I get this mess.

    I hunted this am in my neighborhood. 2 acres that backs up to a 110 acres County park. I saw two yearlings and three people walking their dogs. Hunting tomorrow and Sunday at my two leases.
