Feeling a little better so going to give an afternoon hunt a shot. Saturday looks good, high of 66 and low of 39 so I'll be out all day Saturday

Just had that fawn come in running circles down below then suddenly mama starts blowing. I could barely see her through the trees and I'm downwind of her. Not sure if she busted me or something else spooked her because she came back to the same spot twice and started blowing but had her back to me looking at the creek. She was about 40 yards but no clear shot, dang. Gonna wait it out to see if she comes back but that was my first deer I've ever seen sitting in stand with my bow! Awesome to see and hear but sucks if I spooked her.

Was just after 4pm when I saw them, just got down and went where she was and can see my stand so she must have seen me stand up, repositioned the stand

Out in the stand also. Just saw the first turkeys of my life on this property. Now I can't wait for Spring. Oh, no deer by the way. Saw 5 on the drive over here, bit no deer since getting out to the stand.

Saw 2 bucks at 5:45 just after the turkeys came thru sniffing the ground as they walked. Grunting did nothing, but rattling stopped the 2nd, smaller buck. Never got a good look at the first buck's rack. His body was larger though. Neither busted out of there even though they were downwind of me. Just kept walking to the East the direction the wind was blowing very lightly. Its about time to get some antler down!

I'm nearly out of them, 16 years retired and wore them all out hunting. At least they got put to good use.

Rizzo, there usually is a small percentage that cycle in September, October time frame. Those that don't get bred in November will cycle again up until March (from what the biologists have told me). We have an over abundance of does here and have fawns born from April to July in this area. I saw a 10 point the other day walking stiff legged, nose out, acting like a hound sniffing for scent. Wish I had been hunting. He had his mind on one thing and it wasn't me.

Sat until 11 this morning and then got down. New scrape about 20 yards behind the tree I've been putting the climber in. The other scrape by that stand has been worked since the rain ended this past weekend. Also had a new one on the trail I walk on to get to that spot. Also had some better bucks on the camera during daylight hours this past week. Things look to be heating up down this way. Hunted again this evening. Didn't see a deer from the stand today but definitely expected to. Well, got to work till Monday then back into a tree. Maybe I'll get to slide an evening hunt in this week but that looks doubtful the way work has been lately. Good luck all.

No luck for me the last two days. I did finally see some Deer though. Had a small 8 pointer make a scrape 10 yards from my stand last night, that was pretty cool. I have to work Thur. Fri., and Saturday. Then I am off until Nov 23rd. I hope these next 3 days fly by. Rizzo your right, we need some Antlers on the ground. I'm predicting someone is gonna put one down this weekend for us.

Hunting clothes and climber is packed in my neighbor's truck. Have to get thru a really busy work day tomorrow, help him attach his RV trailer and then head to WI for my final hunt in WI. As I have vented on here before we have to remove our stands and cameras from the private property before 11/1. We will hunt that property and also get a hunt or two on public land nearby at the campground we are staying. Hoping to see some deer!

I got the go ahead for a morning hunt on Sunday - I'm going in to one of my favorite spots called "the bench"... Its a flat 30 yard bench between two huge bluffs - great travel corridor; hoping does will be passed back through to bed... and with does come the bucks.

It's basically like a night club where ladies drink free until midnight - except in this case it's ladies don't drink free. ;)
