Quarter to six, calling it a day. Light is getting a bit low, sitting in thick woods. Oh well I'll get her next time.

Front moved in with a thunder storm and heavy rain. Didn't get to hunt this evening. Next Monday for sure unless I can squeeze out a few hours around work this week.

Recent trail cam pics are showing bucks starting to fight and showing up during daylight hours! Our muzzleloader season opens this weekend, so I'll be wearing orange and carrying my bow! BHOD!!

Have not heard back from my RELATIVES yet. We only communicate by e-mail. Hopefully, I will hear soon. I am over being p*ssed off. It is not worth it, just kinda frustrating. The thing that gets me the most is that after 8 years of hunting the property I found the best natural funnel I have ever found in my life. It is a pain to get to, but I would have bet my life I would have seen every buck in the area pass thru it....guaranteed!! If we can hunt the property when get our stuff I will hunt that spot as I have avoided the area since early Spring. Plus, a person would have to be an idiot to even hike back to that area.

I will do some hunting locally going forward plus a week long trip to public land in southern IL. That 10 pointer with a wide rack that I have posted on here a couple of times lives only 30 minutes away. I have only hunted him once this season. I might sneak out after him before work tomorrow as I have a later start.

Mike, I watched your doe video. Nice footage and commentary!

Schuls, it's gotta feel good getting back out hunting man!

Rizzo good luck on that 10 pointer! I won't be able to get back out until Saturday, have an instrument flight evaluation on Friday and simulator tomorrow as a refresher. And other good news, one of the civilians that works up at my headquarters offered to let me hunt on his 269 acres for the low cost of helping him hang his remaining 5 double ladder stands! From the maps he showed me, looks like an awesome area he has! He had a lake built and stocked with brim and bluegill, already has numerous stands up, 4 different creeks and some small fields he has planted now with different fruit trees. Plus, he has a cabin out there he built and I told him not only would I help with the ladder stands, I'll hang them on one leg if need be and any other help he needs on the land! Looks like my weekends are gonna be busy until January 31st! Plus, November 2nd I'm headed to NC for a Tough Mudder so no hunting that weekend.

Hey guys. Me and my son got out this morning and I still have yet to see a Deer while on stand. Now my son on the other hand had a Doe and two Fawns come by him this morning, and he filled his Antlerless tag with a nice big Doe. He told me this morning he was gonna shoot one at 8:36, well he sent me a Text that said he was ten minutes off, he got her at 8:46. Now I've had to listen to him brag all day. lol. I have to work all weekend so no hunting for me. Good luck to everyone going out this weekend.

So who is getting out this weekend?
With these temps we are having here I have a good feeling that after this full moon passes its going to be heavy movement for us here in Illinois

Well, I got a response back from the landowner's son. Actually, it is a nice response. I am taking it as we can hunt until we remove the stands prior to logging/clearing the property so I will next weekend prior to the clearing begins. Kinda strange that they are logging during bow season just prior to gun season. The response is below:

    Mike,

They will be starting on the tree clearing in a week and a half. It would be nice if all tree stands could be removed by then, so they won't get damaged or be in the way. With all the activity around there it wouldn't be very peaceful hunting.

    Thanks for your cooperation.
