Sit in the rain this weekend but the colder weather has finally arrived. Seen a few doe but not in bow range. Plots are coming along nicely though! Good luck to everybody!

Got out for a couple hours this evening. No deer but did see 2 coons. Lots of 4 wheelers been ripping around the woods by my stand. Gonna move stand next sit on that little property (3 acres).

Congratulations Mike on the Doe, look forward to watching the footage. That gets us a little closer to Team 14.
Neal you are 100% correct, the best is yet to come. I got a little over two weeks to go, and I'm on vacation for a month, can't wait. I'm gonna get out atleast one night this week though, I'm dying to try out one of my new Killzones.
Ryan, that is a sweet looking rig you have there, nice! Nice shooting as well.
I'm going with Rizzo to kill our first Buck also. Good luck to anyone going out in the morning!

Thanks for the kind words about me putting the first buck down, but my best chance on a buck will not be until mid-November when I am hunting on public land in southern IL. The properties I hunt most often are all low on bucks this year. One of those properties were hit hard with EHD last year so I am guessing we will be seeing those effects for years to come. The other 2 properties are fairly small (3 and 10 acres) so you have to gamble when a buck is going to be passing thru the property...especially the 3 acre one!!

If the weather holds out I hope to put in a couple of hunts this weekend in WI on the property effected by EHD last year. It has been 3 weeks since I hunted it so it will be interesting to see if there is any sign popping up and if the cameras are catching anything decent as they were moved across the property the last time I was out there.

Hopefully my little cam hussie shows herself on Tuesday next week so I can add 50 points for us. Even better would be if that buck shows himself in the woods. Everytime I've seen him he has run across the hardball road in front of my truck into that section of woods along the creek but he hides from the trail cam! Not that big of a boy, looks like a decent 6 but would be my first buck ever and would love for my first archery harvest to be my first buck! Always got does when I would take the shotgun out over the past couple of years, and a spike last year so he doesn't count as my first buck :P

^^^ Love it. At the end of the day let's enjoy these next few weeks - it's the most wonderful time of the year!

My sister is having her baby today ~ he came early (due Oct 25). He already is taking care of his uncle arriving outside of the pre-rut; during the October Lull! :)
