Wet morning rain started around 7, by about 9:30 I was ready to go in. This spot has deer usually passing through it between 7:30-8, so I figured I had given it enough time. As I'm climbing down I hear a deer blowing at me, turn and look as one trotted away. Man, that sucks, woods are so thick this time of year it is hard to see more than 50 yards.

Guys - Had two great hunts last night and this morning!!! No shots - could have killed a doe this morning if my stand was 25 yards east of where we put it... Keep after them and congrats Rizzo! First blood!

Seen six does on Sat AM, no shots. Sunday was surprisingly quiet. Hoping to get a hunt in this week. I'll be in WI Saturday morning, then a wedding.

Congrats on the doe Rizzo! Opening day here is 28th so we are getting closer. Checking trail cams, feeders, and need rain for plots badly!

Will head back to WI to hunt this Saturday IF the weather will call for a northerly wind to hunt that buck I saw Sunday AM. If it will not be a west wind I hope to fish Lake Michigan one last time this year before putting the boat away.

I really have to brag about these trophy-tip NAP KillZones. After a pass thru on that little deer mixed with the arrow going 8" deep into the ground behind it I believe I will still be able to re-use it! I sharpened the blades and check the tension of the opening of the BH. Just to let you guys know I reduced the tension that it takes to open the blades prior to hunting. I spoke with a few guys around here who used them last year and the only suggestion they had was to reduce the tension so the blades open sooner upon impact. The deer had the same size hole in the entrance hole as the exit hole. It was a little tricky to reduce the tension, but if anyone is interested let me know.

Sat out for a couple hours tonight. Had a 3.5+ yo at 40 yds. Maybe a 110" 8 pointer. Big body. Not sure if I will pass him if I get the chance again. Exciting to be seeing some bucks in early season.

Great morning hunt. Sat until 10. Had a doe and fawn at 25-30yds right around 9:20, elected for no shot this time. My mouth was watering when I pasted the doe thinking about back straps though...lol

I will be fishing probably tonight through Friday. Might get out for an afternoon hunt tomorrow, and I tend to stay out of the woods on the weekends. If I don't end up going out tomorrow I'll be back at it Monday AM. Good luck to anyone going out tonight!

Had a $20 gift certificate to Bass Pro so I decided to order an HSS Ultra Lite harness. I've been using a 20 Feet Up harness that is essentially like a rock climbers waist harness but it's a little noisy plus the company has gone out of business. Guess I will feel a little more secure with the full system plus looks nice and lightweight!

I always wore my 20 Feet Up harness but I think this HSS will be safer. Was hoping one of you guys used one so I could get some input, can't wait for it to get delivered!
