No elk hunting in NC...yet. My hope is to legally bow hunt our NC elk in my lifetime. We had put in for WY for elk this year, but point creap increased the number of points for a general tag more than we expected. CO was out bail out, a state we could get an over the counter tag. So my buddy and I will return to an area we've hunted a couple years ago. The big question will be next year. We should be close to having enough points for WY (again), enough for a draw unit in Colorado (where I shoot a cow elk a couple years ago), or be ready for MT again.
It's not a heavy job...yours if you want it, have never done it. Coordinate with LC on alternates, team name, thread rename...make sure the team enters any animals properly (pics, scores, etc)...coordinate any messages to/from HQ.
I am not really active enough on here anymore to field this. I was referring to yourself and mud fielding it together. I know ya'll have been around here quite awhile, so just felt appropriate.
If no one wants to take on the captain role I can give it a whirl, if anyone has taken on this role in the past some insight would be appreciated. @wl704 I did see your above notes on the role. Who's season is starting the earliest? Here in MN we open on Sep 17, which cannot come here soon enough. I was supposed to be going to ND tomorrow for a chance at a velvet buck but apparently that wasn't meant to happen!
My season starts Oct. 1. Currently hoping for some drawn applications to go through (put in for about 8 all within 2 hour drive), but as it sits right now only have small 10 acre plot my Brother in Law has setup that is a 6 hour drive. It's where I got my deer last year...was first time ever hunting, and would say I had probably best beginners luck out there, and set the bar wayyyy too high. But man was it awesome!
Depending on my wife's recovery, I may hunt 9/10 or 11. The 16th I'm supposed to overnight drive to IL then to CO to chase elk. My wife had some pretty major, yet outpatient surgery today... Literally I sat around the hospital all day.
So I have tapatalk and bowhunting.com apps however I can never get an alert messages from either app even when I have them turned on...any advice this happened to me last year...I never had this issue until last year. Any tips Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
Pretty good. Real sore, but managing the pain with advil instead of anything stronger. Dry mouth can eat much yet...probably from the intubation. Getting up stairs or bending, like getting out of bed, a challenge. But she's trying to get up and move about pacing up and down our hallway. Thanks for asking.
Road to recovery, good to hear, My wife just went back to work after she had her appendix removed. 3 wks off drove her crazy. Me too!!!!
Not sure what's up with the mobile apps alerts...i noticed alerts for both just stopped a few myths ago. I think you can still get email update via some settings in your profile via your profile on the web, but that's beyond my pay grade.
Sept 15th the season opens in MO. I have never buck hunted in Sept. I guess its all about finding the food.
