Good luck this week everyone! Some of you know this, but I've been suffering from an inner eye infection for a long time. Last month I thought I had it mostly resolved so I was taken off the antibiotics. Last week or so it's started to come back. Low light vision issues, clarity, and eye pressure. Def effects me the first and last 20min of light....you know the time bucks move most...lol
So what your saying is that you have a built in excuse, lol. So what's the next plan if attack. More antibiotics. Surgery??? That's why you get on top of there beds so you don't have to worry about first light or last light. Lol. Good luck. We r close I can feel it coming.
Haha. No excuses here. I'm actually in my garage in Lower light learning how to shoot with both eyes open for low light shots if needed. I went back on antibiotics last night.
Gonna be 77 here today but with 15mph winds. Getting in tight. Just need something within 20 yds even if 5min before sundown. Good luck on the med appt.
I'm real jealous of the time you're getting to spend in the stand this year...with the move are you officially a 'kept man'/retired or still looking?
I have job applications out. Two of them close this week so Im hoping to get a call. I had a decent accumulated leave payout when I left so Ive been able to not work for a while. But that time needs to come to an end soon. As weird as it sounds, I am not enjoying the hunting as much bc I am worried about getting a job.
I have lab work tomorrow in am+ it's suppose to rain pretty good in am and most of the day. The wife is leaving on Thursday to go to KY, to visit friends. ( Thursday at 3 pm). So my rut starts Thursday at 4 pm with a decoy next to a cornfield. Gonna try it. Spending tomorrow evening with the wife before she leaves on Thursday. So I'll be out Thursday morning then again Thurs afternoon w/ decoy. I'll be headed to a lease either Thursday morning and coming back Thursday afternoon and then heading out Friday morning.
I will be hitting it hard starting Friday. Historical trail cam data from last 6 years has me thinking it is really going to pick up. Lots of corn still up around me so I am going to have to hunt out side the box and use some different strategies. Don’t count me out on points my hunting hasn’t really started yet.
BTW I saw a lot of folks talking about corn/beans still standing in the Midwest...I guess the Mississippi River is to low to barge the crops down the river, so farmers are either holding as long as the can, taking losses shipping by ground if the have contracts, or possibly just leaving it given fuel/harvest expense...
I hunt right off the Mississippi on the river bottoms. They harvested the corn last week around the place I hunt. Beans don't look touched. But it's extremely dry and low water here.
I am getting everything in order to head to Ky for 10 days starting Nov 1st for public land. Hope I can find a good one.
