Yes elk antlers count! Looks like that brings us up 3 more. Ill get those in the score thread. I checked cams and had 6-8 Bucks without headgear, except I couldn't find their bedding areas? I thought I had it narrowed down but apparently I was wrong. Have any of you guys had experience with deer wintering in cattails? At this point my guess is that our deer are bedding in a cattail swamp that we have. I have pictures of shed bucks hitting a mineral site I have in the willows that surrounds the cattails but I haven't found any bedding in the willows. Unfortunately, the cattails are likely thawed by now which makes it almost impossible to walk through them...
Yes I've seen deer bed in cattails quite a bit, I've also known of other people that say the same thing. I know it's tough to walk through them but I would give it a shot.
Ours is a floating peat bog with no hard bottom so I don't like walking through it after it thaws since we break through so often Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have walked a lot of ground this week with nothing to show for it Hopefully tomorrow brings some luck!
Had one of my best shed hunting days ever today. Broke my record for most sheds found in a day! Came up with 12 sheds over 8.5 miles of walking. I won't post all of the ATLs just for space sake, I found 3 sheds to the same deer today, a set from last year and a single from this year, pretty awesome and by far my biggest shed for the year so far at just over 63". Hopefully I can have a few more days like this and put us on toward the top of the scoreboard. Put me down for 27 sheds this year so far.
I picked up two more over the weekend as well. If I ever get the free time to create a photobucket account then I'll post pictures of my 3 from the year so far.
At 39 now after finding 9 today including a match set to a buck I've found 2 years of sheds to previous to this year. 4 sheds to the same buck over 4 years is pretty awesome.
