    I'm only shedding in MD. It's a mix of big woods in some areas and ag farms for the rest. Not much prairie land

    I've only shed hunted SW MN. Basically all ag fields with a few river bottoms. My buddy moved out to SD in August and I'm trying to get a trip planned to do some shed hunting out there. Some awesome terrain and was just curious if guys approach that much different than back home in MN. I don't know where they bed out in that terrain but assume south/east facing slopes are still a go to location to look.

    Travis, that sounds like a fun trip! I always want to travel out to the midwest for a shed trip. From what I've seen it looks like alot of open land. I would start in low laying areas with little patches of woods. I think the deer herd up in big groups out there. So when you get into the sheds, I would assume you would find alot in one area.

    I'm hoping! He sent me quite a few pictures this fall of some really nice bucks. Hell, I just love sheds, regardless of the size!

    From what he's told me, they have a lot of pasture ground with small wooded areas that all funnel down to a winter rye field. Sounds like shed hunting heaven to me!

    It happens I'll be in the woods sunday deer hunting so hopefully I'll find some on the way out to the stand but it's still early here to.

    Haven't been out yet but either this weekend or the next I'm going to do some walking. Little bit early yet and it's always tough choosing to shed hunt or ice fish this time of the year.
