I felt the same way a couple weeks ago. We are supposed to be getting a little more snow but nothing really substantial.
Well the plan is to be out soon as this melts. Hopefully the warm weather will melt most of it before next weeks snow returns. I got a new trail camera today that I want to put out and I need to get that ground blind still so lots to do soon as I can get out.
I think what we have coming will be gone by the beginning of next week. Sure wish I had a new trail cam to play with. hope your blind isn't to banged up either.
Were having a major melt this weekend! I'm hoping to get out, kinda embarrassing running the contest and having a goose egg next to my name! I'll update scores one Monday!
Snow is melting nicely here in Chicagoland. Hope to get out Sunday for awhile! Sent from my DROID X2 using Tapatalk 2
Got out for a good hike yesterday but came back empty handed as far as sheds go. Am gaining some pretty good info on the scouting side of things though. Finding some nice travel areas that seem be potential stand locations for this fall. I gotta get myself a trail cam ASAP and start finding out if my hunches are correct.
Me and Zeus Shed hunting... no luck yet but they just started droping last week here is South LA.... good luck to all!!!!
Haha awsome Zeus is my thrid, I had a Moose and coal before him!!!! i have been training Zeus around the house with sheds and he has been pretty impressive, although when i brought him to the woods he was so excited with new smells he wore him self out and im pretty sure he did not use his noise after the first 15min in the woods.... just have to calm him down some and hopefully we can find some sheds... also cant wait to set out my secret minerial mix at all my mineral stations...its only March and i sont know if i can wait until Oct.
Was able to finally get out today for just a short hike. Actually got more snow last night so that didn't help. Walked for about a hour with no luck. Did get a trailcam setup so planning to head back out in week or two to check on it and see how the flooding is looking on the property. The majority of the farm was under water today.
My Zeus only got to be 6months old. I lived in Albany GA at the time and Parvo was really really bad there. He contracted Parvo at 6 months and passed in less than a week. As soon as I noticed some symptoms I rushed him to the vet and they tried saving him but the disease was already to far advanced in his system. Was a very sad thing for me. Parvo is a "no joke" quick killer if a pup contracts it.
Thanks. He would've been a great dog and was for the short 6 months he was on the earth. He had an awesome personality. Found this old pic of us. This was he and I back in 2000. He was gonna be a big boy. 5 months old in this pic (about a month before he passed) and pushing 70lbs already. Haha.
He was a beautiful dog and yes hes huge for 5 months..... i know it must have been hard i lost my last dog(moose) who got hit by a car about a year ago, he was 5 years old and he started college with me and was my best friend for 5 years... although it was sad i now have a new best friend who has very simular traits as moose and i had alot more free time to train zeus by my self the right way... he is 10months old now and is a trained retriever for duck hunting, but i also trained him to track deer and sheds for fun... he picked both up extremly easy and loves to be in the woods... havent gooten a chance to turn him loose on a "lost" deer yet but trained him on a deer we knew was down last year and he took us strait to him... hopefully this year he can help out i plan on shooting some hogs this summer to keep his tracking skills refreshed...
