Worse season in a very long time. Missed a decent buck last night. And son shot a doe last night. Tracked her for a long ways can’t find her. If I get off of work at a decent time I might go and look again.
Afternoon. We scouted for our managed hunt last week. Found quite a bit of good sign. This is the first time in the last 5 years that we've been drawn for a managed hunt, somewhere in that time they decided that it was ok to put up trailcams at our own risk, of course. Seen quite a few does hanging around on them so hopefully will get one of them knocked out pretty quick so I can get to hunting some antlers. The hunt starts the 10th and goes through the end of the archery season. I've scheduled the rest of my vacation in hopes to get some good hunting in. Weekends are mostly shot due to our Son's hockey schedule so I'll be hunting mostly during the week.
We can do this! Still have some time to move up the ranks here! Smoke pole season starts today in WI. Imissed the last two days of gun seasondue to being ill. i am buried in snow the last 2 days. 3 feet + of snow. hard to move and deer are holding tight. no action whats so ever on the cams!!!!
Good luck ! Hope you get a giant. I only plan to work about 7 days this month. I got a lot of vacation to burn or I will lose it. I’m looking for a big Nanny on the cameras to put in the dirt. No snow down here in Alabama to worry about and our rut is still a month away. Plenty of time left. We gotta get some points.

I still have 2 doe tags. Didn’t see any does in rifle. Just spikes. Dec 26 is the start of 2 nd archery season. Gotta find a food source that has food on it. Gotta do a little walking.
