Morning!! We were able to scout for our managed hunt this past Monday without messing with the hunters that are currently hunting. The wind was brutal so nothing was moving and no one was hunting. I’ll be in the woods Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Gun season opened this past weekend which puts a lot more pressure on our family farm so the bucks will normally hold tight to cover. Gun season run through February 10. I will try to be taking a bow with me 95% of the season but sometimes I just want to relax with a cup of coffee a rifle in a warm shooting house.
I’m right here with ya ! No clue yet what our Bama deer are doing here. Been so focused with the Missouri bucks. Gotta get my cameras up here and get dug in for the long haul to the first week in January when it’s game on.
Happy Thanksgiving team! This past sunday I had an opportunity for the rifle and took it! Beautiful buck and apparently I put him out of his misery as he had been gored. Found 3 nasty pockets of pus between his chest and shoulder. Probably one of the grossest deer to date I have had the displeasure of processing. My buck had a puss pocket on his shoulder also. It popped when butcher skinned him. Gross , I was there when it happened. Yuck it’s the size of a softball. You can see it on his shoulder
