Big UT...so are you not able to bow hunt anymore this year? I don't understand why you said it was the final day. I am used to an Illinois season where you have over three months to put deer on the ground.

Here in UT we have the general archery season which runs Augus 18th- sept 14. that allows me to hunt in the region i applied for. (lotto system) if i don't get something by sept 14th we have an extended archery that runs til december. but you are limited to 3 small regions in the state, they don't let you hunt where you applied for though dec.

That is very cool to hunt that early in the year. I have hunted Colorado and Wyoming for both elk and mulies.

Didn't even manage to see one! I did see a couple doves later on this evening but they just weren't flying like they were earlier this week.

Ok guys this yr in Michigan our youth season and doe season fall on the same two days. Next weekend. So if I can tag my three oldest boys out then I will get to put 50 points on the board. If not then it will have to want for the regular season. Which will most likely be the case. I was having a tough time patterning some bucks but located two in the last couple weeks. I heard of two additional bucks that I will chase down the leads this week. Good luck everyone. Way to go BigUT on the velvet buck.

Good looking buck! I am assuming you have screw in steps to get into a tree that big? I am going out this morning to mow some pathes on the private property I hunt and then heading to the public land to put up some stands as well.

The combines are out in full force over the past week here in central Illinois. I managed to spot a real nice 8 pt last night working his way around a corn field on a piece of property that connects to one that I hunt. I drove around in the country and managed to see between 15-20 within a couple miles. Seeing all this activity really makes me want to get in a tree!
