Congrats Rob! Movement has been pretty slow around here, hoping that will change with the weather cooling down this week.

Talk about torture! I had 3 shooter bucks at 60-70 yards for the last 45 minutes of daylight this evening. I'm set up on the edge of a picked soy bean field and there is a HUGE oak tree 65 yards away in the field all by itself. Just as the sun is setting I see deer headed for the old oak. It's a group of 3 shooters and what looks like a button buck. I'd say they were a 135" 10 pt, a 150" massive 8 pt with 2 stickers and a 155" 10 point. One of my most exciting hunts ever.

They proceeded to eat acorns all around the mighty oak until just after light faded and then made their way across the bean field out of sight. At least I didn't have to scare them off to leave my stand.

Not sure I can get a stand in the mighty oak, It's about 4' in diameter. But I might be able to intercept them on the way there if they get hungry for acorns again. Might be back there after work tomorrow if the wind will work.

Well, I made it into the big oak via screw in steps and stood on a limb. But the bucks were no shows. No surprise there, I've never seen big bucks do the same thing 2 days in a row. But I had to try.

I made a mad dash to retrieve my SD cards from my cameras yesterday evening. I'm getting a ton of day activity, but nothing I'd want to throw a dart at. I had to get my bow tuned so I'm back to ground zero with sighting it in and what not. My release busted on me while I was sighting it in and I had to wait to get a replacement. Now it's just raining and I've been working late everyday. My plan is to get everything at 100% this weekend and with any luck I'll be in the woods for halloween weekend. My ground hasn't been visited a hole lot this season,(by humans) and the corn is coming out this week (I heard the combine). The beans in the bottoms got a very late start and are mostly green still. my belief is that when the corn goes the deer will move mostly onto my ground and I'll be in heaven for the start of the rut.

I found some funny looking scrapes or at least an attempt to make some scrapes. This must be a little buck or turkeys??? I have this 10 pointer showing up at different cameras through out the summer. I personally don't want to shoot him, but you never know until he's infront of you 20 yards broadside!!! I'm aiming for a much older and larger buck. I'll only get a couple of ops for hunting the rut unless something changes. anyways, great job to all of you that have put some points on the board. This team is already turning out to be better than last years team that I was on.

Hunting has been slow my way, went 7 straight sits without seeing a deer. Weather hasn't been very good, either too hot or raining. Hopefully this weekend will be better, had this buck show it's self for the first time on the property. It's always neat to see new bucks that show up all of a sudden.

Checking in, still at it.. I made a move this morning that paid off but... got up extra early, went in tight to where I thought the big guys are going, wouldn't you know it, even getting in deep a big deer moved through before light... I did pass this buck for the second time, might regret it later but with 4 weeks to go, and 2 weeks of Nov off, I'm gambling.

50 more point tonight. Big doe down in IL. Shot her at 12 yards and she made it 38 yards from my tree. Fell over right on my 4 wheeler trail. More details to come.

I've spent that last 7 days driving through southern IL, KY, TN and back through MO and I'm seeing a lot of young bucks with does already. this morning I drove to Memphis and saw plenty of road kills, before I realized that forgot my fuse panel for installing our router. Had to turn around and head back to my office in downtown STL. Currently, I'm sitting in Southern IL in a small town called Marion, IL. Anyone know anyone down here that's looking for a hunting partner tomorrow AM???

P.S. I'm taking next Friday off and I'm going to get out if it kills me.

Rescued us from the bottom of the pile.

Anybody else hunting this weekend? I'll be hunting my property in IL again. Just not sure how many sits I'll get in. My wife has a cousin coming in from Seattle and I have spend a little time visiting. The weather sure is perfect for huntnig tho.

I can't this weekend as I'm on call for work. This sucks considering I worked 69.30 hours this week. I'm most likely going to get my first sit in Monday afternoon. Hopefully, the Card's have wrapped this little game up by then. I'm going to make some mock scrapes Monday for sure and hope they start bringing the big guys out. Good luck to you all who are getting out this weekend.

Went this morning, it was perfect...27* heavy frost, calm. But the deer didn't get the memo. Looking pretty slim for the next couple of weeks until I head to Ohio on the 9th.

Saw a few deer this weekend, just nothing I wanted to shoot. Had a doe fawn and her mom withing 15 yards Saturday evening. Just enjoyed the show hoping a buck would show up.

Sunday am saw some deer moving through some downed tree tops, but couldn't see what they were.

Sunday pm had a big doe and a 1.5 year old 6 pt at the waterhole.

I did get 2 new shooters on trailcam too. A nice 10 pt that might go 145-150 and a big 8 pt working a scrape. Lots of scrapes showed up this week too.
