Just a quick update. My buddy ran down Sunday and checked cameras on our 60 acres. this past week didn't produce many pics and none of the bucks showed up. I'm assuming that the deer are in the corn now and will remain there for some time. I'm not sure when I'll be able to hit my spot for the first time this coming season. The Wife and I are going in on Friday morning to be induced, so needless to say I'll be on diaper duty for the next few weeks. Currently, I'm not planning on going out opening weekend, but things could change at any time, so who knows.

    Awesome start Matt!

Well for me things have not been great. I went to check cameras a few days ago and discovered a camera, stand, sticks, lifeline and bow hanger all missing. I've been investigating and know exactly who took it. Now I just have to prove it. I soon as I do is of to jail for him. He is a convict and has been in and out multiple times. He is currently on probation. On the bright side in the process of figuring this case out I got premission to hunt my neighbors land also, which is about 30 more acres. I also went and bought 2 new muddy stands and a few sets of gorilla sticks.

Hopefully I will nab this scum ball before they go missing too.

Im getting out a week early here in Pa! How you ask? A family friend owns a farm and has 20 red tags left. And I get to try to fill one Saturday! :D this place is a freaking deer factory so hopefully I can stick a big magestic doe and put up some points.

Well I have not been reading the posts and I have missed a lot. I was busy guiding bear hunters, done now. I have not been bowhunting deer yet and going crazy. A little scouting and moved some cameras but so far no big bucks to be found.
Next week I plan on going out for a doe for some venison and then more scouting. I am seeing more deer this year in my travels but the big guys are scarce.

Well. My plan to get out on a red tag hunt today did not pan out. I was up at 5 and all ready to go when I got a call from the state police for an accident on the interstate. I drive tow truck so I was on call till 7am. So I had to go clean that mess up. Oh well. Guess I'll just have to wait another week like everyone else haha.

Made it back from my elk hunt. It was a great hunt with tons of action, but unfortunately I made a bad hit on on a nice 5x5 bull. He never stopped and I shot while he was walking and hit him too far back. We looked for a day and a half but couldn't find him. If another hunter stumbles across him dead they will at least send me the rack.

Time to concentrate on whitetails now. Have a wedding to go to this afternoon, but plan on getting out tomorrow.

I havent had a chance to get back out, but I have checked my cameras on my food plot I planted at the beginning of the month, good growth...but not bucks still. Ugh...

Hit the woods in Ohio on sat morning and seen couple of doe. No sign of the booner I'm after but it looks like I'm going to have to find him now that his velvet is gone. I'm pretty sure I've located a solid doe bedding area with a nice pinch point leading into it. I will revisit in late October.

This having a baby days before opening day is for the birds. either way I spent all day driving through S. Il then KY, then TN and finishing back up in Marion, IL for the night. I'm surprised that i wasn't seeing many hunter out as I drove through the country side, in fact I saw zero hunters.

Any body seeing anything lately? I lost an arrow and my release Sunday while pulling back to target shoot. The release brokee and the arrow flow through the air into the corn behind my house. I've gotta get a new release so I can get back to fine tuning my bow. Looks like I might find an opportunity to get out next week after work. Fingers crossed.

Headed to the farm tonight for the first whitetail action of the season this weekend. Big cold front moving through on Saturday. Should be great hunting on Sunday. Gonna see if I can put some more points on the board for the team.

I like the way you think John. best of luck to you. It appears my 1st outing could happen next week as I'm sure to find the time to hit my woods on my home from work. I'm really regretting not hanging a stand on/near the front of my property. the Beans are bright green and I'm sure the deer are tearing them up right now. these beans won't come out any time soon.

Well fella's, I've been pretty scarce around these parts lately primarily because I've been studying my @$s off. Tomorrow I test for my airframe license, the culmination of a year of schooling and hard work. Good Lord willing I will pass that and be in the tree-stand tomorrow night. I should be hitting it pretty hard this week with the cool front coming in. Keep me in mind tomorrow and good luck to all of you!!
