I've heard they've been finding bucks out your way with ehd or blue tongue. SAD!

I'm going in to work again tonight, so hopefully I can run down and do some card pulling after. If all goes well I'll only be working until 2 or 3, so I'll I'll go home get some sleep wake up @8 and run down to get some cards. I'm thinking about setting up behind my dads ground (20 acres. He justbought it back from crp and this year he let the neighbor plant corn. Took a utv ride around the corn this after noon and I think it's got plenty of potential. We've killed many deer out there but stopped do the every other neighbor moving closer and closer to the property line.

I've heard rumors, but nothing confirmed yet. Usually hear rumors about some every year, but last year was pretty bad in spots. Nothing in my neighborhood that I heard of tho.

First set of pics I've gotten of this buck all year. Nice to see some bone. I believe this one to be a 3.5 yr old

Well I had an interesting card pull Friday morning. the last time I was down there I had move a couple cameras and was more eager to look at them then the ones infront of my stands. Surprisingly, I wasn't disappoint by this camera on the trail from my newest stand set up. 12pointer.jpg

He's a decent looker; however he'd look a lot better on my wall. Unfortunately, I ran out of time and wasn't able to pull the camera from that stand. My hunting buddy say's he'll run down there next weekend to check camera's and drive the 4wheel down the trails one last time before hunting season starts. we had rented a mower in July to cut trails and what not. Since we've had abnormally wet summer the grass and under brush has made huge come back.

Well I got my food plots in on my last chance day Saturday and got over 1/2" of rain on them Sunday morning. First good rain in a month. That should get them going. Oh and it was hot as hell and very dusty planting. It should be nice and green when I get back from my elk hunt.

No monsters on the cams tho. Just the usual does, fawns and 1.5 year olds.

Food plot is growing, 2 slammers ( 140's) on camera along with a few "iffy's" on camera...

Good luck John. I hope to take my dad and brothers on an elk hunt some day. Sounds like a blast. I will miss IL opener because we will have a new born hopefully by then and I'll be on call for work. I average 80+ hours on those weeks. Then it takes me another week to get caught up on sleep.

Well we are on the board, took a doe this morning. She spooked first thing then blew for 30 minutes, then....died. I'll post the 2 pics on the scorecard, but here's some blood for our thread!
The pink/white looks good covered in red. :tu:
