Had a great hunt today. Had a shooter within range twice in 7 hours. He was chasing does full speed the first time.
Out this morning! Had 2 does come by at 6 yards and now I'm hoping for a buck to be crushing soon! Not good weather here though. Windy and a slight drizzle. But you can't kill em from the couch!
Well I have had a great morning so far! Saw about 5 does early then in the past hour saw a spike and a 130 in 8 point that I came to full draw on at 30 yards but he was behind a bunch of limbs and I didn't feel comfortable shooting. Great morning though!
I'd say it was a pretty good morning also. I saw 3 does out of range an there was a buck in the cover that was chasing them around an grunting at about 8 or so I think it was forky but couldn't get a good look because they stayed in there but all in all it was a pretty good sit it was 28° or so no wind really an has started to warm up since so things are still lookin good.
Been in stand since 2:30 and seen 5 deer. 2 spikes 2 does and another big 8 point that's probably 120-125 inches. So that's 2 big ones in the same spot! Just gotta deal the deal!
My evening was amazing last night! I saw 23 deer and 1 was a different buck that was a good size for around here! Can't wait till I hunt either tomorrow or Tuesday
Good news Bad news. Looks like trip to Maryland is a bust. I was really looking forward to going to the land of the Giants. Possibility still exists but very slim. Good news though is on the 10th I'll be in Cayuga County with an Amish family that takes bucks in the 120 to 140 class every year. I'm hungry though... and the first deer that gives me an opportunity for a shot is getting a Slick Trick to the vitals! Sent from my E6782 using Tapatalk
Not too much action yet around here hopefully next week will be better. I may only get 1 if any hunts in this week then only will get a morning hunt on saturday. I start leave that following week and will get a ton of hunting in too really looking forward to that. Good luck guys, about to hit the best time of the year to be in the woods!
They are everywhere here in md right now! I found a tree yesterday that I couldn't get both of my hands around it (I wear xl football gloves) so it's a big tree! It was rubbed real bad and a scrape was on it as well. It's 100 yards from my front door! Hopefully will see the guy that did it!
