11.4 yards... and I could NOT get a shot off! Two doe came in from my 6-o'clock and moved to 5. Dang safety strap would NOT let me get in position to get off a shot. I need to get one of those HSS line straps verses the one I currently have. I think they allow a hunter more mobility. Boy I was HOT not being able to connect. It was the first time in my tree stand this year (all the other sits were still hunting or spot and stalk or sitting in a ground blind). I can't wait to get back to that spot... it's a funnel 'twix two corn fields with open green meadow and hard woods all around too.

Sounds like you were where you needed to be sir. Just keep at it an im sure it will pay off an as far as your harness is concerned well lets just say your already HSS minus the actual vest because safety is #1 in my opinion but your right the older style harnesses are very non user friendly and you have to be setup just right to maneuver with the things but I wear the same kind every time I get in a stand. Good luck on your next sit an if u tg have an HSS by then make the proper adjustments before its game on an it will pay off. Best of luck as always to you.
