I thought it would be SO EASY to zip an arrow through them. When I got back in I even told Steph I always wanted to shoot a pig with a bow. He said I had to wait a few more weeks to do that...

been busy with work and taking care of my grandpa. his health has taken a turn for the worse so it has been a little difficult to find time to fill my buck tag. But im headed out this evening and sunday morning and evening also.

I will be heading over to the food plot around 5:30 or so but in the mean time in between time I moved my other stand a lil closer to home i have had several opportunities to kill a big doe from the door step but dont want my meat setting all day as they are crossing right at the beginning of these power poles which are about a 50 yds shot from the porch as im heading to work. I have been very tempted to take a doe before work but im really the type to get my hands on my deer as quick as possible an my boss wouldnt like it if I get one before work so ive passed the last few mornings. So I hung the stand about 200 yards down the crossing between property lines which is the only draw back. If it gets hit an runs into the neighboring property id have to go ask for permission to trail which I may end up doing before I hunt anyway, and if it gets hit an runs back south im good cuz this property covers 40 acres so thats a definite plus. Here's the work I did today.[IMG][IMG][IMG] This thing is a good 400 yds or so to the the last power pole. There is acorn every where on the ground an in the trees an its just littered with them so the only thing im gonna do is start a mock scrape an go from there. I got a good feeling the rut is gonna be interesting I will put a camera down there to see what turns up. I honestly haven't saw a buck yet but I think thats all about to change. Good luck to everyone here an hope things are lookin up for you all.

At least you got to release an arrow... better a miss than a bad hit.

Thinking about the missed shot last night I went out in the yard to double check my setup. My bow was definitely out of tune. After a couple of shots it was very noticeable. Don't know when it happened don't know how but I carry my bow in a soft case so that may have done it. I shoot the React Sight an it takes a couple turns an twist to get it together an here's how it turned out my left an right could be better but Im pretty confident with what I got now before all my arrows were hitting low so I tweeted it a little bit an I was back in the center my first rounds weren't even in the black. Close but no cigar lol [IMG]

At my cousins. Really thick in this area... hoping one walks through. Farmer cut all the Corn, but the forest floor still has acorns around me.
