I went out in the yard an shot this morning first at 40 second at 20 then at 35 an I wud say im pretty tuned up so my confidence is up I can definitely shoot further out with the React but im not worried. At the new spot im expecting some close up action nothing more than a 10 to 20 yard shot an there hitting the apple corn an the corn block I put out because there was 2 pics on it of either a Buck or doe buck but the camera only got a pic of its hind quarter an it was too close to the camera so its up in the air. I did move my camera to the food plot an the day before the opener or the day of I will check it I bet there is lots of pics on it though already. So in three days its game on season opens Wednesday morning so im excited about it. With low pics i cant really pattern like I want to at the new spot but I know for sure at the food plot they come in the morning an again in the evening before bedding down. I really nd to get another cam over the new spot but I got a gut feeling about it because nobody hasn't really hunted it much an like I said before my stand is between a swamp and bedding area or cover an between the two is where I got the corn block an apple corn. The first weekend I put food there it was gone in a weeks time. I hope there is a big mature deer in there as I have heard stories about a giant running around about a 5 square miles fingers crossed. This is my biggest buck to date which scored a lil over 100 inches [IMG] talkin bout proud I was really pleased with this buck I called Ace he was mature an I shot him within 20 yards from my camo seat between a pinch point an bedding area. Here's how my mount turned out its at grandmas an she calls it her baby as she is 94 years old with dementia but its for all my family to see an to encourage the new generation of hunters to come.[IMG][IMG] He was definitely one to talk about in 2012 season killed in the Rut November 27th In Town Muskogee Ok my first bow buck an whats so crazy is that I was gonna get up an leave the camo seat stood up looked right looked left an there he was right at the tree line at 60 yards or so so I sat back down easy an watched him for a miniute heart pounding saying to myself I gotta get it together cuz I might not get another chance so I said what the hay this guy is ruttin hard so I pulled my Primos bleat can out turned it up an would u know he heard it an started towards me by then I had a Rage 3 blade knocked an carefully I pulled back my Darton Lightning an waited for him to get at 20 or so yards finally he was at 15 broadside quartering away slightly when I let it fly. That was the loudest smack I ever heard as my arrow struck right behind the front shoulder. He took off right where he came from I stud up to see an would you know he dropped right in front of me out to 60 yards. I thought to myself I just hammered a nice buck an he is right there dead. That arrow had to have hit his heart an then exploded or something because when I gutted him out I never found the heart honest. This is my story though an it was only the beginning of a passion that I hold dear to me besides family because they come first. So in short im praying for the team to have a good season an I wish u all the best of luck at all times. OKIEBOWHUNTER

Sorry guys, haven't been on much. PA starts next saturday but I'm out until the following weekend. Work and my son's travel hockey take up all my time. Just got back from 4 days in Stamford, CT watching him play. Good luck everyone.

    BAD NEWS TEAM...
Had some work I needed to do before I headed to the woods this afternoon. Just prior to heading out... got a phone call from my wife. My step-sister called and said my step-father had passed away. Spent the rest of the day conversing with her. Never made it to the woods.

May be able to get out tomorrow evening for an hour or two (anyway that's what I'm planning). Next is a trip up to Rachacha for the wake, funeral and burial. Not a good start to the hunting season for me! However... I'm sure the good Lord will reward me with a couple of deer later (anyway I'm askin' Him to). :deer:
