Well I hunted this week with plenty of opps to kill but nothing mature on the buck end.... I have a whiteface doe im trying to kill right now but she keeps pulling the slip. I went out yesterday to check cameras and took my stuff just in case and got 70 yards from the truck and bumped the wrap 8 I have pics of towards my stand so i ran to the truck, got dressed, and tried to cut him off but never saw him. Im pretty sure he held up in a small woodlot a hundred yards from me in the beans..... Trying to pattern him has been tough to say the least but im still trying. Good luck everyone!

Good luck out there guys. Looks like I won't be out until Monday night. We have temps right now that are 20+ above average, and the wind isn't good. I could have sat out this evening, but the winds is borderline and we got invited to dinner with my dad & step-mom. Sara will be gone all weekend, so I'll be maning the resort solo.

It'll be fairly good timing though, temps should drop after this weekend, and the solunar charts look good then as well :tu:

Dinner is on the pontoon tonight, so I'm going to pop in and swap cards on one of my cameras since it's only 5 yds off the lake. I'll let you know if I get anything good. Probably more does & wolves :D

Hey David, you been able to get out at all in Wisconsin? Or did your buddy talk you into waiting until mid Oct?

And Sean, how's that west coast hunting treating you? Been able to get out much yet?

About done with elk. Not talking much anymore, and got poured on the last few days. Switching gears to deer now.

Been raining all morning, cleared off about noon. Shoot be a great night for spot and stalk deer hunting! Heading out again in the morning to hang a few stands and check out a few more spots. Hopefully I can return tonight with 50 more points!

Back already. Rain came back in full force. Worse storm I have ever been caught in. Mother nature just took a sucker punch to my mental stability:mad:

Not sure where exactly I will go in the morning yet, weather permitting. Getting burned out, may take the morning off. I do not like to hunt when I get frustrated, really takes away from the experience for me.

    Another Nite On Stand
Well I tried to get out of town at 4:30 but realized I needed gas if I were to go. $80.00 later and I was on my way. Met my friend there at 5:15. Set him up in a stand where I could see him .I told him Hig Tower was missing me the last few nite's by walking out by the stand I wasn't in. Got settled in by 5:40 and made my 1st Bull call at 6:05. I heard a branch snap behind me and as I turned to see what made the noise I saw a calf Moose 25 yards away on the other side of some willows. Then momma showed up as I heard her even though it was lightly raining.
I drew and thought here we go,she was facing me as was the calf and I let off after a minute of holding. The calf layed down and the cow stood straddling her till it was time to come out in the dark. I could hear animals walking between my buddy and me but couldn't call to them to try to get them to come in with the Moose close by. He did say he heard animals between the 2 of us but never saw any of them. I was in a hollow and below my friend ,I could see he was sitting in a cloud of fog that was really thick. He said he heard a deer about 60 yards out in front of him but couldn't make it out from the fog, so he didn't even know if it was a buck or doe. So my last 3 sits have been full with Moose, rut will be over with in a week, hopefully I can get it done by then. Will be out on the weekend.

Going to be able to get in a few hours this Saturday and a few hours this Monday. Looking to put down a buck the rest of the season unless a doe gives me a solid shot and the timing is right.

Getting ready to head out to a spot I have hunted before. Great island containing great feed, bedding, and staging areas. We had A LOT of flooding this year so it will be interesting to see how, if at all, the island has changed.

Buck from Island 2 years ago. This will be my first year hunting this area since that day.

Cant wait to get back in the tree this weekend, going to be hunting Sunday and Tues. On duty all weekend so this week sucked but next weekend I will be back in KY after the 160" 10pt. I may just try to shoot a doe tomorrow to break the ice and get another 50 on team 28!

I didn't see a thing this afternoon until I came down from my stand. I packed my stuff up and then jumped a lone deer not 20 yards from my stand right at dark. :( I will be back at it Monday afternoon. I might even post up a map tomorrow with a few spots listed and have you guys help pick my stand site for good luck!

Looks like Monday is going to be a good day for our team :tu: I'm still hoping to sneak out for an afternoon hunt. We've lost a lot of leaves this past week, the woods should be real open now!

Good luck out there guys, hope to see some bloody arrow pics soon

Switching it up and I am going to hunt tomorrow morning in a place I recently nicknamed the "Bermuda Triangle". I see big buck sign but never see the big bucks. :) So tomorrow I am moving into a place I think a decent buck or two might be bedded. Thick nasty cover on the tip of a point. KILL!

    Doe kill

Got my first deer kill this weekend. What do I do to post it for our team? Was in northern Wisconsin and got a doe. It was pretty awesome to have the deer come in and not know I was in the tree..... Hope to go again in two weeks for a buck.
