Good luck Mike, I'll be out with the shotty this weekend as well. I've never killed a big buck with the gun, mine have all been bowkills. I'll be bowhunting again Thanksgiving weekend. Still have my buck tag and hoping for the best.
Just saw that team 10 just got another buck down. If it's over 85" It will nock us out of our spot. We still have 8 guys that can add bucks to or score. No pressure guys. Right now I'm just holding out for something better than a fergie. All iv been seeing are little fellers. But my season runs till the end of the contest so iv got a little time left
I am hunting in a 4 point restriction area but if it's legal I'm shooting! I have a Buck tag thru gun season i can use with my bow and i still have 2 any deer tags for after gun season. I will try to get some points on the board
I think thats great guys. I know some of you only get one buck tag a year and if you are after a big ol rack I wouldnt hold it against ya. But I think if we can at least get a 75" to 100" buck average that would put us say at 1595" and i am pretty sure it will lock us in. The rest of the teams seem to have all passed on does early on and we put em down. I dont know about the rest of you but I really noticed that later in the season does are even harder to come by. So if we keep the pressure on they will keep waitng for that big one to put them on top and not add those important 50 pointers.
Saw a couple of nice bucks this morning, including a 140+ 8pt. He was about 45 yards and i had some limb issues. The wind was going right at him and before hecould give me a shot he bolted. I have a day and a half left, but I am holding to my standards, have a good feeling about my morning stand.
Got a lot of catching up and updating to do, but shot a good one on public land tonight. Going back to get him at first light.
