I tried but my camera on my bow did not record for some reason it made a new file but there was nothing in it. kinda anoying it just better not do that if a buck walks in front of me.

 

Man sorry to hear that hope all goes well with the grandmother. And I guess you just got the unlucky seat today but its still just the begining of the season. I dont think I would have ever got into bow hunting if it was not for getting stationed here in MO since the hole season is mostly geared toward archery. I was trying to get the managed deer hunt in the James A Reed Conservation Area if you know were that is but did not get selected this year. I will have 4 point saved up for next year thou

75 degrees out tonite, but the my watch said it was 95 degrees in the sun, waaaay to warm out for my tastes.

Had 2 yearling does at about 10 yards, and a big slob of a doe the last 30 minutes of the nite right under me (20 of those minutes were legal shooting time even) hate them deer that don't have the decency to meander away when it is time for me to leave......

No horn for the evening, will have to think about popping a doe, but didn't want to do it opening night....

How much do ya'll trust the feeding times you find in magazines? It looks like peak time is middle of the day the first 3 days of season down here. Just wondering, I'm not going to skip a day to hunt if it says that it is not great but I might take an extra day off if there is some real truth to these moon phase feeding chart.

No Sunday hunting in Maine

 

Congrats one the 1st deer of the season!

Well, unless my wife goes into labor this afternoon or tonight, I will be hunting some good ole public land in the morning. After that , I will probably be living vicariously through you guys for the month of October...

 

2 weeks Tomorrow and i will be in a stand ready to let one fly.
Yearling, doe, buck i don't care meat for my family and points on the board.

Now thats what im talking about! Same amount of time for me as well, and its killing me....

 

I am going to get out on Tuesday I hope, then on Friday I am heading back up to bear hunt Friday evening and saturday.

Well spent about 3 hours in the stand tonight and saw nothing but some hen turkeys. we have some big old toms running out there and I going to try to stick one if it happens to walk in front of me. We get two any deer and two turkey archery tags in MO. But you can buy for $7 more as many doe tags as you want.

Checked one of my cams yesterday. Had two spikes an the same little 8 point and a bunch of doe. I don't think I'll shoot those bucks hope a bigger one starts to show up. Maybe I can get a doe right off the bat though.....

Took my son with me Bass fishing this morning. I cast the pole out and let him reel and I held the rod. Second cast this is what he catches(he turned two in may) he was so excited that he "catches the big fish" love days like this.

That is awsome I can't wait to take my kids fishing and to the woods with me. I will be able to take my daughter next year.
