The countdown has begun! I'm on vacation next week! So ready to log some real time in the tree stand. I think I've only been out for five short hunts with no shooter bucks and no shot opportunities.
Some local bucks are starting to fall here, but temps are going to be in the 70s over the next couple days. Im currently letting the woods sit, ill check some cameras on Sunday and see what the action has been.
inspite of the warm temps the scrape action is heating up on a couple of my places, wish more of the bucks were like this one

Had an 8 pt broadside at 10 yds this evening. If only he was two years older and had an extra 75-100" of bone on his head.
First statewide freeze of the season tonight. I'm headed to western OK (20 miles from texas border) tonight. Only downside is the wind is suppose to howl all weekend, but out there it's pretty normal and I don't think if affects movement like it does where high winds are not normal...
I just missed a big fat doe. It's still early, maybe I'll get another opportunity this morning. Can't hunt this afternoon. I have to take my grandkids trick or treating. But I'll be in the stand all day tomorrow.
Had a young 6 come under me at 1015. Trail cameras are showing more and more daytime activity, its only a matter of time now. Ill be out again Monday.
I'm hoping to get out of work soon, since I have a 420 mile drive ahead of me today. I'll be hunting all day every day Sunday thru Thursday, unless I tag out. Good Luck to everyone this weekend!
