I made it out for the afternoon yesterday. Sat from 4 to close. No deer, lots of acorns dropping. Anyone else get out?

I did a quick update to the logo sizing for anyone who wants to use it.



I will be getting out next Sunday / Monday hopefully. I am really excited to see how my plot is doing in terms of activity. I'm not expecting to see any buck activity yet but one never knows.

Welcome to the new team members! Guys I am getting pumped. Early doe season is this weekend!!! Looks like a nice cold front is moving through also, lows overnight right arounnd 40degrees. I can't wait! Where do you guys like to hunt for does in the early season? What tactics do you use?

 

sounds like good weather for your opener. since i only have public land to hunt my options for does is limited, but one of my favorite spots is a small oak flat right next to a large cutover with pines on the other side of the road. there is a small water source close by ( some would call it a creek but not me). i have seen a fair amount of does in there.

 

Don't know if any others here are hunting in Iowa this season! Can't wait though! Here in Iowa, we start the 1st but the first day I'll be able to go out will be the 6th with my buddy on his land! Hope he can nail one (I gave him dibs on the first one means he is nice enough to let me hunt on his land with him). So excited for it now! Just picked up my new apparel for early season!

Sorry I haven't been around much the last few days guys, been working a lot. Trying to get things done before the good time of season gets here.

I want a Mathews Chill so that is the bow I used...

I have the itch to hunt so bad right now. Not going to get out this weekend. Hopefully the weekend after.

Will be in the tree starting Friday for our early bow season......Cant wait!!!

 

Hit the woods for the evening tonight. Saw some yearlings and a older doe. Not a fan of killing does this early in the season and I won't be killing yearlings so didn't take any shots. Checked the camera and I had about 30 pictures from this morning from 6:20-7:30, too bad I was taking the ACT this morning... I also got some pictures of two good bucks, will post those later. Hitting the woods tomorrow morning, hoping that the deer from this morning will be coming back!
