Lets hear some input on the name. I like antler assassins, R4ce suggests Team Hardcore. What does everyone else think? Not much talking compared to other teams. Does anyone have trail cam? Lets see some pics. I had a trail cam out for two days and got these, will check it again Saturday.

If antler assassins is OK with everyone would you be able to do a new avatar Hoyt?

I made this avatar if we decide to go with Antler Assassins. Let me know what you think.

Antler assasins was my team name last year and I have the Avatar as my profile avatar pic now if someone knows how to take the image and change the team number on it or edit it in any way.

Sorry for the delay... Chris here checking in. I hunt Massachusetts and NH. Just put in a food plot in up north which should produce at least a doe this year. After 3 seasons of bowhunting and 2 young bucks ill be holding out for a mature buck this year. I see a lot of deer late season up north so fingers crossed a big boy shows up! Good luck everyone!

Also, I have photoshop if we come up with a team name and I'd be happy to do an avatar up.

I think Hoyt already registered us as venison villains in the captain's thread. Can we still change it?

I guess I figured we would have voted on team name and who the captain would be. I just didn't want a name like another team already has, as far as captain I would have voted for Hoyt anyway. I just thought it should be a team decision, but at least it's done.

I'm good with any team name.

Here are some pics of my plot up north. I planted over the weekend so hopefully we get some rain up there. I did a mix of Buck Forage Oats and Imperial No Plow. The land only got cleaned up a week ago so I had to go with low maintenance seeds this year.

Where I hunt in Northern NH the deer yard up as soon as snow hits the ground in the mountains so activity really picks up around the rut. Hopefully the plot creates a solid food source this fall if I can get it to grow. Bucks don't have great antler growth up there due to limitations in good food sources and very harsh winters. However, there are certainly some very nice, big bodied, mature bucks. I didn't get any on camera last season until late in the year.

I will be hunting MA as well but I will be much more mobile as I work to learn the areas. I have one solid location where I found a nice shed this past spring. No cameras out there though.

I would love to hear how that food plot turns out. It looks like you just pulled some of the ground off the top and planted?
    Thanks

It was all trees, brush, blueberry bushes, and stumps. I'm dealing with very harsh soil up there - very rocky, a ton of roots, and very acidic. I put in a small throw and grow plot earlier this year and it turned out nice. I literally cleared out all the brush by hand, raked, and threw down some seed. Here is how it turned out:

I was lucky enough to have a small excavator doing work at my cabin so our family friend hooked me up with clearing out the area for me.

Next spring I'm going to try to get all the rocks and roots out and may also bring in some loam. The seed mixture I did should work well for this season as long as we get some rain. I will tell you, I need to invest in a harrow for my ATV. I did my best to rough the soil up with a rake this year but everything was so last minute I just wanted to get it in.

I love it up there - it really is my outdoor paradise!

Finished trimming lanes yesterday and made some final stand preps for the season. Was pleased to see the plot coming in nicely after only a week. So far just a few does and fawns but things should pick up as the season progresses.
