Season starts the 15th here. I think I'll be in SE MN or maybe on Tom's lease in Buffalo County....;) Either way I will be ready to shoot the morning of the 15th!

9/15 for me. Hope to have my tag around a doe's rear leg by 9:00 AM....yeah right.

It should be interesting. I am expecting a confrontation with the neighbor who was trying to gain sole access to the property. The evening of the 15th (different property 5 miles away) will be my best opportunity to catch a big boy coming out to get a drink of H2O then heading to the fields. Unless I am successful in the AM I plan on hanging my PM stand mid-day. I'm waiting 'til then to determine wind direction. Will try to video (old Sony mini-tape) my PM hunt. AM hunts I don't like setting up that crap in the dark.

Put on the BHs earlier this week to practice with them. My fixed BHs are hitting exactly the same spots my fieldpoints were. Finally, my bow is in tune!! Just gotta put a sharp edge on them and I am ready to roll.

Hey, congrats on the doe! Too bad about the buck. We had a guy hit one with us in ND that we know is dead, but couldn't find him. Same deal. Took a day off hunting to look and look. I already had a buck so we looked all day. Sucks.

I also hunt in SE MN. Wayyyy SE. Good luck on the MN opener!

It was a total wash. We saw our "guide" Saturday morning and that was it. He never baited again or anything. Everyone we talked to had nothing nice to say about him. On the plus side tho, we met some great people, saw some beautiful country, and got hooked up with a true outfitter for next year. This guy is top-notch! Went out and viewed his place and talked to a LOT of hunters that go with him. All but one of the guys we talked to was a repeat customer. They showed us pics of the bears they got for the last 2 years with this guy. It was a learning experience. I could be really upset about it if I chose to, but that's not how I wanna be. I saw the biggest doe I've ever seen in my life while in stand up there. I'd say she woulda dressed out between 150 and 170. If only deer season would have been in LOL
Really looking forward to going with this outfitter for next year :D

That is great that you are able to make a not-so-great experience positive! I was hoping to see some harvest pics with a bear and you. Next year!

My season is going to be starting Sept 15th here in WI. I am thinking about taking my 8yr daughter with me in the morning hopefully getting a shot at a skin head and then in the afternoon going after one of the bucks that I posted earlier :)

Tom, are you going to be able to go back out to ND to try to fill your buck tag?

Any idea why my pic isn't showing up all of a sudden? I started using Google Chrome instead of Explorer, but not sure if that would do it or why.

I just put a new pic in there. I'll have a new trophy pose before long anyway, so it doesn't matter LOL
