Won't score any points for the team, but I got to MN and all unloaded. Hanging stand first thing in the morning, refreshing bait, and hunting in the afternoon. The guide said there's been plenty of bears hitting all the baits really hard. Said he wouldn't be surprised if the 6 of us he's taking out are tagged out with 2 bears each by sunday nite :D
Good luck both of you. Be careful...we need you both to return home or at least a computer/smart phone to update us with you trophies! Mike
Hey, I was trying to be positive here Tony! Heading out to switch out the card in my camera that is local after work this afternoon. I'm more excited about the cards that I will be checking in 2 weeks in WI. Those babies have been out since 7/15 without being checked!
Just pulled the card on one of my camera's and found I have 3 shooters roaming the area so far: Big 11 Big 9 Long Beamed 8 Can't wait for Sept 15th to get here!!!
Well guys it is going to be a long night. I shot a velvet 10 tonight that was not as big as I thought. He is 3 1/2 and probably is 125". I did not get a pass through, we watched the footage and it looks like he was really hurting. I think I know about where he went down. We will let him lay tonight and hopefully will find him in the morning.
Praying you find him, Tom! That feeling sucks ... we have all been there ....can't wait to see you behind him!
Where was my text last night Lester, sack punch coming your way Hope the search is going well and you found him!
Go get him Tom. I just got back from Colorado yesterday. I just couldnt get a big mule deer within range but my freezer is now full of a cow elk! I tell you, being in the Colorado mountains at 10pm at night, by yourself, 1 mile from the 4 wheeler, skinning, quartering and hanging a cow elk while listening to things snapping in the woods around you knowing you smell like blood makes for a very uneasy feeling...but a rush I wouldnt trade for anything. Now on to whitetails....
Well we looked for 5 1/2 hours with no luck. The last thing we did was walk a 20 acre corn field. We walked, drove 4 wheelers, stood in the back of the truck while driving slow. We looked in cattails, hay field, crp, wheat stubble, and corn fields. I know that deer is dead which makes it worse but there is not much else we could do. Sorry guys I tried, I have another day before I head out.
