BBD - teaser pics going on Instagram. Cool character not sure score but not a 180 so not going to close the gap. An awesome buck and cooler experience. Rattled him in and he came running and grunting in to 22 yards. Died after 40 yards. So blessed

Well I might as well be the flip side of the coin..... Worst hunt all year
Start with running late. I walk to my farthest stand. There is a camera right there so I go to turn it off and grab the card and when I flip the switch the camera lights up. They tend to do that when they are off and you flip the switch. So pissy about losing a few weeks worth of possible pics I go to my tree and begin to climb. I step into the base and snap, the bottom strap breaks. I didn't fall but might have if I didn't triple strap all my sets. So I climb down and head to my next closest set until I can fix that one. After a long slow 100 yard walk in the crunch of leaves I get to my next stand. Sweating but not bad. I climb up and go to pull up my bow and..... I realise it's on the rope of the first tree. By this time I'm mighty pissed. I climb down and walk there and walk back. I finally get in the tree at 415 hot sweaty and hating the entire GD sport. I decide to have my trailmix cuz food makes fat guys happy and promptly drop the F&$#@+& bag. So I sit there staring straight ahead and wait for the night of Hell to end. .... It does not.
At 458 walking across the woods is my biggest best buck of the woods... The Alpha. I watch him cross and pick my spot. He will be in my lane at 45 yards so I draw. Check my grip, bubble, breathing an pin. Everything is perfect and I'm rock solid. I release and it feels perfect. I watch my luminok fly true until about 35 or so yards when it shakes and shoots down. The buck never gets touched but he won't be back. He blows for 5 mins or so and heads South. I can't believe I hit a GD branch. I mentally went through everything in that stand 100 times this year. Worst part is he was walking a path that goes right by the first stand I was in. FML.... I'm going dark for a few days guys. I need to reset.

No deer movement this evening at all. Didn’t even see a deer in the field on the walk out.

Just tagging along for now. He’s only 6 and this was his first time being in a tree stand. He did a great job being quiet, still needs some practice on being still and slowing down his movements, lol. He really wanted me to shoot the armadillo that sounded like a 160” buck coming by us.

Just had a 6 pointer walk right in front of me at 10 yards. It appears to be the most used trail currently so if a big boys takes it he’s dead

Well...I’m extremely disappointed in myself. I let one fly at probably a 3.5 year old 8 point because I’ve been so frustrated with not seeing mature deer. Then to top it off, I hit him very low in the guts. Not sure what I did on the shot but that’s not where I was holding my pin. White hair at impact and a stinky arrow. Watched him walk off and could see something hanging out from under him.
