As far as you know nobody shot him right? Or found dead heads or sheds? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
He is the one that got away for sure. If I recall you did the song and dance with him that year right? You’d hunt one spot and he was across the field numerous times? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The story is long and intricate. My number 2 on my land missed him at 40 yards and creepymike from on here even saw him while hunting with me. I danced with him 4 times but never got the opportunity I needed.
I guess Average Mike just doesn't have the same ring to it. I am going to be heading down to my gun spot here in IL this week to hang a new stand for my dad and trim lanes for him. Also might try to scout my local bow spot to see if I need to move a stand since the crops are all still green in my area it might change what I need to do.
The whole thing. i seem to be the only contractor in town doing restoration. plus it seems that i'm the only contractor that gives a crap about a good quality job. my business moto is our work looks like it's right out of a magazine. sad that the other true craftsman i know are all starting to retire. the overwhelming thing is he called me today and told me he bought two more properties for me to restore. good grief! that dang trump has created an overload of work! it's a money grab for the next 5 years then it will be all over.
I’m looking forward to hunting on Tuesday with a little cold front. I’ve got my stand up where I’m hunting already so I’m able to get in quick after school! You heading out next week? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Did a little more scouting last night. Just trying to pick a spot to set one stand for now and use it for end of oct. I love to scout but man you can over think things all day long Found an old rub line coming off a corn field onto a steep ridge that drops into a valley. Acorns all over but part of a cow pasture as well. Any thoughts here?
I hunt right next to cattle and they are walking by as I hunt. The deer are used to it and human traffic. Kind of acts as a cover sometimes. I’d give it a try. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Since it's early don't be afraid to burn a night or two with a observation sit.... Get high(elevation) and where you can see and have yourself a glass sit
So since I butcher my own stuff and always find myself needing new blades or entire knives... I decided to go a different route this year. I found that you can purchase top quality scalpel for under 10 and 100 blades for 3$.... I'll be trying this to see if I can operate ( see what I did there) the scalpel with cold hands. What does everyone use?
