Just started last year! around me, the ice isn't thick enough yet! I did however just get a fresh set of strings put on the bow and man do I love it! Also, only a few days remain until it is the official end! If it ends the way it should this will be my first BH.com contest victory! anybody else?
Pulled the trigger on a new matthews yesterday. Can't wait for it to come in for 3d season. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Benny- I do quite a bit of ice fishing around me. Next weekend I am headed down towards PA for a coyote hunting contest and we ice fish throughout the day, it is a blast. CT- This will be my second win, I was part of the turkey contest a couple years back and didn't contribute a single point. But a win is a win! Henson- That's a slick looking bow man! Good for you! Saturday evening the deer were feeding like crazy and I was able to drive around for a couple hours to check out what bucks made it through the season. Of course I forgot my camera and wasn't able to get any footage. But from that drive it looks like a bunch of great 2 year olds survived and all look healthy. One field had three 3 year olds that I have been watching and all but 1 looked great, the third was very run down and appeared to have some type of leg injury. He had already dropped one side and I finished my night watching him hoping he'd drop the other. I saw one mature buck that I have been wanting to see in person for a couple years now, he is an absolute slammer and really got me excited for Fall 2019. More snow coming for us Wednesday, which will make it easier for me not to get out and shed hunt until mid-February. For now, I will just stare at my office sheds from years past.
I am currently on two winning teams. Turkey contest winner from last year and then us from this seasons deer contest! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Only a couple more days left. I see the scorecard thread has not been updated since 1/4/19. Hopefully they get that done before the deadline.
Hey fellas, just updated the scorecard. Looks like you guys will win, unless team 3 is able to knock down two 200 inchers by Thursday!
Crazy things can happen, but I think we got it. Thanks Brad! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Not sure if you guys saw today’s episode but Troy got us another 50! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Yep, I just watched it too. That was almost a month ago if I heard right on the episode. What the heck Troy? You trying to hold out on us or what?! Seriously though congrats to Troy. That will put us over 1500 pts. if it gets posted by Thursday!
Yeah it was right before New Years during our Illinois CWD season I believe Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
We kicked some serious butt this season! You guys rock! I'll be out Saturday for my final sit of the year. 48° with a SW wind in February...
Good luck! It's our last day of subzero temps before a big warm up this weekend into next week. Hopefully all my cameras didn't die, I think the deer will be feeding heavy these next couple nights.
Well, the 2019 season starts now! I am home for the weekend and plan to do a little shed hunting, as I am writing this I can hear a pack of coyotes going off so it sounds like I have some predator control to do as well!
So how does this work now that we won? When do we sign our endorsement deals and tv contracts? Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
well, I learned a lot in the first shed hunt! The property next door who I have permission to hunt cleared a path between their son's house and their house for their grandkids to use to walk back and forth. The only problem is in creating that path they destroyed the major doe bedding area in my little pocket so it will be interesting to see how this changes the deer movement I may have to push deeper into the property which I have not done because I wanted to keep as a comfort area for the deer. New season new challenges.
