Face paint or mask for opening day?

I will be war painting it up. My girlfriend really likes face paint mainly because her glasses fog up wearing a mask

Well we just got busted by a doe and two fawns...educating them early I guess. Would have made a sweet video if my girlfriend would have shot. We have a trail camera down below on video mode right now

Good luck! One of the first things I said when I got in my tree opening night was "S*** I forgot my thermacell!"

Anybody else forget anything at the house this weekend?

I remember one time a few years ago I forgot my release at home that was a bad feeling when I went to put it on when I got in my tree

Well, went out Saturday night. My husband didn't want to start early season hunting, since he has most of October and all of November and will be up at the cabin the whole time, so he decided to come with me and video. It sucked! We got out there and the tree that was the mojority of our cover went down. We walk out and I was ready to turn right back around. I just had a feeling we would get busted with practically no cover. But, what the heck, we were already there so we stayed. We get up in the tree and the rain starts. Really?!? Still stayed.

2 hours later I turn to Dave to begin my whispering rant about how this night was wrong from the beginning. To start out, we had to drive my car (Sonata) out to the area we were hunting because our new truck doesn't come in until Tuesday and our cabin truck decided it wasn't going to start and this stand was too far away for the wheeler. Then our cover tree is gone. Then it starts to rain and temp drops and as I was telling him that I was freezing my a$$ off and we weren't going to see a dang thing anyway...and as I am saying this something caught my eye. We had 3 does standing right below our tree. They had no idea we were there either. They hung out there for about 20 minutes and then ventured off. I never got a clear shot at them. Next time!

I won't be able to get out and hunt next weekend because we have to travel for a funeral. Hopefully my lucky weekend will be the weekend of 9/27-9/29. I forgot to bring my pics home. I have 3 or 4 bucks that I am targeting this year. Not monsters, but bigger than my 8 pointer from last year. :)

I am also hoping to get a new phone because my coverage with T-Mobile is pretty close to non existant up there. But, if anyone wants to exchange cell #'s...I am game...pm me.

My son and I went out opening morning. Beautiful start to the season. I had a nice doe come right in at 15yds, perfect set up, and I spooked her before I could draw. I heard her footsteps and convinced myself it was a squirrel. I feel so stupid for not being mentally ready for the shot. She surprised me and all I could do is swear as she bolted back the way she came...stupid.

Came in for lunch and went back out at 2 when it started raining and didn't stop. We didn't see anything more and got soaked so we called it at around 5 and went home.

Heading back out next weekend, all we can do is try again. I'll do better next time, sorry I let the team down and lost out on 50pts.
