What realistic potential do we have out there still??? Anyone able to tag a doe or have a legit shot at a buck??
I still have a pretty legitimate chance at tagging a decent buck this late bow season. I have some good food yet and I don't allow any pushing on my properties during gun season. Our weather is just starting to get kind of harsh and that will bunch them up pretty good and make them easy to pattern. I have a new bale blind that I just built a few weeks ago for that very reason. It is easily moved and you can hunt out of it immediately without messing up the deer. AND, I can use a heater in it! lol. To be honest, I don't have a lot of high scoring bucks to hunt right now, but you never know what will get pushed in over the next gun season. I would like to think that a mature buck in the 140's or more is still pretty doable. I wont give up until the end (Jan, 10th), I promise that.

If i have to, ill take a smaller buck on public for the team!! I tagged a doe already so no help there
My shot at a buck will be limited due to where I hunt. However, I am still hunting 2 times a week and will do so until the season closes on Jan 8th. Ive seen bucks moving better around in around late December after the hunting pressure lets off. I am hoping to get lucky. We still have a decent amount of people on the team with doe points still available.
Got out the other day and saw #1 on my hit list. Couldn't get a crack at him due to a couple of does that had his attention. However when I checked my trail camera at the base of my stand I had a pleasant surprise. This stranger showed up out of nowhere! (I really hope the pic posts!) I know! I about crapped when I saw that pic! I thought my #1 hit-lister was big but this guy is a lot bigger! I just hope he made it through the gun seasons. Our muzzleloader season is this weekend so I have to sit it out but I had to anyway due to family stuff. But, come Monday... oh ya! Gonna get back after it!
