Happy thanksgiving everyone... congrats on the buck bud. Im off to skin 23 deer so far this morning. This deer processing business has really cut in to my hunting plans this year.
Well, I hunted like crazy for a full week in Kentucky and have nothing to show for it. The deer at my dads farm seem to be thinned out big time. It was gun season there and I believe our neighbor (who illegally hunts out of a truck and doesn't obey any hunting rules) has shot basically every deer in the county. Lol. I believe he got at least 6 and we are only allowed 3. Anyways, I got skunked. I have never tried so hard for a deer in my life. I am not giving up though. I am gonna try a few more late season hunts back in Arkansas. Sorry team. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and good luck to anyone hunting. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
It happens man, sorry to here about the neighbor guy. No need to apologize, that’s part of hunting and when you don’t give up, you’ll be rewarded in one way or another, whether it be learning something you wouldn’t have had you not been in the woods, or just more stamina in the patients department lol. I’ve got my new Halon 32 pretty much all set up. 3d league starts Tuesday and that’s where my focus will be until outdoor 3d stuff starts. I’m going to go buy some judo tips and go bust some squirrels and a coyote if I run across one on my weekend bc I’m dying hunt something. On Friday, I put a camera back by a locust thicket with a rub line and some heavily used trails running in and out. Excited to see what that shows in the next week or so, hopefully some bit of information I can put towards next year. I wish everybody the best of luck in what ever you may be doing. Get em.
Well gun season has come and gone here in MO. Got my wife her first 2 deer. Sent from my SM-G955U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Congrats to the guys that have shot deer... havnt had a lot of time one here lately it seems.. running a trap line also.. got the cameras honed in on the food plot and hoping to start getting some patterns on a mature buck that is if the neighbors havnt shot em. I am a gun hunter also and i did shoot a buck with my rifle but he did the ground shrinkage trick on me somthing that hadnt happen to me in several years. any way i still have a archery buck tag left maybe if there is still a mature deer alive i can punch it still got the fever. Got my buck posted in the scorecard thread.. For some reason they came out grainy on the computer.. Anyway, nice buck Merlin that's a shooter here in Maine any day of the week! And congrats to your wife as well!! Rifle season ended here on Saturday, we have 2 weeks of muzzleloader left and also two weeks of archery in certain areas. I'll be out trying to fill my buck tag with the muzzleloader, and I still have a few doe tags left for the archery zones. Vacation next week too. I'll try to share some pictures shortly of the buck I have some trail cam history with out behind my house.
Yes, that is def a shooter in my book! Nice buck Merlin. Congrats to your wife as well. Good luck closing out the season! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Well guys I am home from my trip to Pennsylvania for rifle season. I was fortunate enough to harvest a pretty nice buck while I was there. Unfortunately it doesn't count for the contest but beginning Monday I will be back at it with the bow for 6 days. Hope to put another buck on the ground. Best of luck all of you still at it!!
