So here is the story.. finally a little time.

Tues we had a cold front move in and my wife wanted to hunt with me wel long story short she got cold. Didnt put enuf clothes on and the temp dropped down from 60 to 40 in less than a hr and the wind switched on us. So we got out and decided to check a camera and on a whim decided to quick check a spot and hang a camera. the land lord told me he never sees deer in so i kinda ignored it cept across the fence bout a 100 yds the neighbors have a big permanent blind.. any way i got to where i wanted put the camera and jumped round 4 deer.

Well i knew then I'd be hunting that spot real soon. Wed aftrnon worked out slipped in there and while hanging the stand i so deer not close enuf to shoot but about 50 yards plus out.

Thurs aftrnoon i slip nack there again and didnt see a deer until like 6:45 i see a deer slipping across like 15 yds from the stand coming from a direction i didnt even expect them to come from. Fro m the time i seen here till i got the shot was like less than a min.

So i was trying to get my range finder and couldnt get it, great i forgot to unzip my pocket that i keep it in. So i unzip it quietly as possible mean while she's cautiously moving across down wind and I'm expecting her to blow out any min. So she come to my shooting lane and i range her and try to put my rf back in my pocket it wouldnt go back in.

So i had forgot my cushion so i was sitting on bare metal seat and yes my but got sore.. it did not have mesh on it. It was bars running across with 3 to 4 inch gaps yes very uncomfortable. So i carefull put my rf on it so it wouldnt fall between the bares and make racket. Meanwhile the does starts walking through my shootnglane so i bleated at her she stops i quickly attach my release and start pulling back, she takes of walking again and i had to bleat at her twice more before she stops and turns all but broadside just quartering slightly or so i thot. From ther everything went into autopilot cept i couldnt quite see her it was getting that dark... So i open my left eye and i could see her and my right eye was still lined up with the pin behind her shoulder alsudden schwack. Big mule kick arrow with lighted aluminock goes fly and lands on her back which i found kinda cool and woulda made a cool video. But meanwhile remember i could really tell where i hit her. So we followed her blood trail bout 45 min later like you took a bucket of red paint and a paint brush and was walking and slinging paint around to problem following it.. what amazed me is how far she went. Right around a 100 yds[IMG]

Still trying figure out how i can hunt this piece with any wind direction cause it holding quite a few does and should be really good during the rut!!

Oh also i was reminded why with this doe why i do the scent control that i do. When i shot her she wasnt down wind anymore but from the time i seen her till right before she walked in my shooting lane she woulda been in my scent cone.

I was standing but it was a very steep downward shot. One of those times where my adrenaline took over and I wasn't thinking rail clearance haha. Good new is I was shooting a Parker then and they replaced my cam for free even after I told them it was my screw up.

Well, I did not get a deer tonight...although I finally saw one while on stand! It was the first Arkansas deer I have seen! It was a button buck that came in right before dark. He was about the only deer that I would let walk (or a small/young buck). He stopped short of the corn pile and started getting very curious. Then he slowly left the same way he came in from and eventually blew about 4 times. Must have caught wind of me
