Just bought a summit open shot climber... I love my lock ons and will still use the ones I have hung, but I have some other spots I’d like to check out on different properties. Im free to roam now!
$288.89 shipped. I was looking at lone wolfs but I can’t bring myself to pay that. I’m wanting to do some public land stuff next year so at 15lbs, that’ll be nice.
Very cool! Enjoy. I have an OLD Summit Viper that I love. It is my only stand that I use. I just replaced the shrink wrap cable tubing on it tonight. Good as new! Should last me another 12 years! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Well I hate that you didn't find him but if you never found a drop of blood or any sign he's probably not hurt to bad!!! Hopefully you'll get another crack at him soon. I'm packing up for this weekend as I type this.... be headed out in the morning for camp. As soon as we get there we're gonna check cameras and fill feeders. He's never done any of that stuff! It's also squirrel season so we may have to pop a few right there around camp for a meal! I probably won't be on much the next few days! I'm hearing reports that the little bucks are starting to really roam around, may be a awesome weekend for the kids. Anyone that goes these next few days I wish you good luck. It's getting real close for the big ones to get stupid!
With what I found I'm sure he is alive good luck been shooting squirrels myself get around one a day out of my grandmas yard and shot one with my bow the same night I shot that buck not shooting squirrels with my bow any more because I can't eat them then to much damage Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Good choice! I like my open shot for the most part. I had a climber with the rail on it but a few years back I had a nice buck very close to me and with my adrenaline on full bore I wasn't paying attention to the rail and with the angle I had to tilt my bow down at when I released the bottom cam hit the rail and bent my cam. So I decided I wanted a climber with no rail and went with the open shot also. My biggest gripe in the small platform but I just use the bigger platform from my other climber in conjunction with the open shot seat. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
That’s what I paid, after tax and shipping it came out to $288. It’ll be here Saturday! @OHbowhunter I was afraid of that exact thing happening if I got something with a rail.
Does the seat fold up on the open shot??? I'm kinda been lokking for one to... to me a climber like you can be way more mobile than otherwise!!! Ya maybe a bit limited on trees sometime but if you only make it up 8 ft well thats 8 ft right??? Wrong??? Sent from my SM-G955U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Yes it folds up. As far as being limitited in trees, it always seems that the tree I need to be in is just a bare stick in the sky anyway, no cover. I’ve been busted a bunch being in a lone mature oak tree with no cover. The trees with cover I usually find near where the deer are traveling are always leaning hard one way or the other lol. It seems I can never find a tree anyway. Lol If 8 feet is all you can get and there’s a good back drop that breaks you up and you can see where you need to see with the wind in your favor, than 8 feet ought to work I’d like to think.
I just bought a Summit Viper and that thing squeaks SO BAD! And its heavy. Might just suck it up and buy a lone wolf
Just got in myself trying out a new spot on public land on the edge of an old clear cut Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
That's y I stand up when I shoot both my stands have a rail but if I stand up I'm up high enough where I won't hit them and durning rifles season I can sit down and use them as a shooting rest if I need to Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
