What deer hunting apps or websites/webpages do you all use? What ones do you like or dislike? I am looking into getting a hunting app for like wind, weather, etc.

I use HuntStand and accuweather. For finding places to hunt, I use a GiS app called elevate. It’s free and shows owners names and stuff, but I think it’s just an Indiana thing. Most counties have a GiS website now I think.

The only one I played with was the OnX hunt maps. I will buy the yearly membership when I go hunt a place down south in November.

Is there anyway you would see this deer as a trash buck, inferior buck that needed to be shot??[IMG]

I think if he makes if through this year, he’ll be a big 6 next year. I had a really oddly large 6 on camera last year, I’m interested to see if I can pick him out this year. I’d only cull bucks if you have a mean old ornery buck that’s fighting off the younger bucks with more potential.

I agree with you... sadly he got shot last night... accidentally on purpose. It was dark enuf that it was thot to be a doe and they recovered it, it had horns much to the amusement of some of us and much to the frustration of the shooter who is my dad lol... i just have a brother who thot that buck needed to be shot and said "good he's a trash and needed to be shot." Any way my other brother any where pretty quick ro let him know if thats what he thot then he didnt know shot lol just like my 450 acre lease the owner thinks all 8 points are culls... i whole heartedly dont agree.. but he is elderly and from the good ole days when they believed in some of those myths

I’ve shot two button bucks I thought were does. One I looked at it through the scope during shotgun. I was probably 13, I thought cool a doe. Wrong. Second one was last year. I had watched a momma doe and two yearling come through many times. One day I thought, okay, I’m going to take the last little doe off the back of the line. Button buck. Lol. I don’t really believe in culling. I believe that areas can have to many deer and not enough food. In that case the bucks definitly won’t reach their potential. Like a pond with too many fish, all the bass are skinny and 13” long
