I just finished editing a shotgun hunt from last fall. Now that I am feeling more comfortable editing, I am trying to go through the raw footage that I have and get caught up.

I have one more bow hunt and another coyote kill that need editing and then I will be good. Hopefully by then I will have new footage to piece together.

 

Not seeing anything yet.

 

Last night I had a doe at 200 yards and a 2.5 year old 6 that came running into my rattling.

This morning i had a button buck work through some beans to my north.

For how promising this season looked early and how good my hunting was last year I’m honestly pretty disappointed in how this season is going. Last year I was hunting one specific buck and I passed a ton of nice deer and at least 50-75 does waiting on him, this year I can’t even get a doe in range. It’s very strange.

It’s weird how I learn more and more about hunting and deer and my success level has dropped off tremendously. I killed more deer knowing nothing and just going out in the woods than i do now.

It looks like Thursday is going to be a monsoon here. I'll be going out again this evening and Wednesday morning. Then probably not til Friday morning. Still no sightings yet this morning .

 

Calling for 100% chance of rain here both Wednesday and Thursday. I’m going out this afternoon.

 

Saw a doe and a fawn just before I got down. Nothing else. Going home to look at card pull.

 

I will be out tonight and tomorrow. May get a little wet tonight but we have a ten degree drop between today and tomorrow. Hoping the high pressure gets the bigger bucks up and moving

Had a new 10 show up on the cam. Shooter for sure.

 

Ended up having a spike come through before getting down, been a slow last couple hunts and the weather coming up (warm, 100% chance of rain next 2 days) isn’t very promising either.

Hoping Friday-Weds heats up.

We got a 10 degree drop on Friday. I’m heading out and will be hunting for the next 10 days after that. Big bucks should be moving. You guys start your days off yet?

I'm off until Saturday the 10th.

 

I only work the 8th, 10th and 26th this month. I have a wedding reception on the 4th I’m not to happy about as well.

Well it's been hectic here Tricker treating tomorrow night won't be in the woods till Friday or sat depending on the rain. So good luck everyone. Didn't see anything this weekend , heard a few blow but that was it also have turkeys on the cam all hens. Hoping with rut picking up I'll be able to kill one. Feel bad I've not added to the score card yet but my season doesn't end till February. So I've got time.

I’m back in the stand as well, In a completely new spot surrounded by suburbs. My brother in law got me access to this property and he text me this morning that a huge buck just crossed the road in front of him and went into the are where I got permission to hunt. Will see what happens I’m on a flat above a drainage/swamp to my W and to my east is a large thickets. N and S is the travel corridor between bedding and the swamp, looks good just need some cooperation. Good luck all!
