I got down about 10:30. I’ll be back out in a few hours.

 

Caleb that deer has got to be well over 250lbs. He’s a pig! Kill him so we can find out.

 

Here's the 8 point my grandson almost had a shot on this morning. It's the one in the background.

 

I have found that the weekend closest to Veteran's Day is usually the best rut movement. I killed my first archery buck on Nov 9th and have seen plenty during the 8-12th. Unfortunately, that is also usually the weekend gun season starts. I try to stick to the few public pieces that do not have open gun seasons or the occasional invite I get from friends to private land that is archery only.

 

Dang Shawn that’s a pretty good 8 point, especially for a first buck. You’re gonna spoil the little guy. Better have him start with a spike lol. I did, well a 3 point lol.

 

Well, after that he came close to shooting that 10" spike. Just didn't quite have the shot angle.

 

Been set up for a while, nothing yet.

 

I wound love to find out.

I’m up, cut bean field, wind hitting me in the face. Hoping for a lot of movement tonight and I wouldn’t hesitate to take a doe.

Seeing deer as we climbed into stand. Looked like a fawn.

 

So far a 3 year old 6 point and a doe and 4 point.

 

Just got settled in. Its around 4 here so im doing good on time. In a different stand tonoght. See how it goes

Got two tractors working in the tree farm now. Hoping they leave soon

 

Grandson couldn't resist a 4 point. He hit him back a little. Giving him a bit.

I havea good feeling about tonight..... everything about this spot and the conditiona feels perfect. 10 degrees cooler and I would be shocked not to see a shooter

Why can't all neighbors be cooperative. We tracked him to the one property that we call no man's land. This guy allows no one, no way, no how. Everyone else is cooperative around there except him. In the last 10 years this will make the 3rd deer we've lost on his property. Unfortunately this was my grandsons 1st buck. That just ticks me off.

 

What a jerk
