Had a very eventful hunt just no mature bucks. Watched deer from the second I climbed into my stand. Ended up seeing 4 small bucks and I think 6-7 does. Tons of chasing too.
Saw nothing from stand and 7 on the walk out in different fields. My buddy was hunting the opposite side of the farm and had a shooter 8 make a rub at 52 yards. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I ended up having two does stand up at 50 yards from their beds in CRP. I had been set up for about 30 minutes. They milled around and bedded back down. About 30 minutes later they stood up and took off. I really thought they might come get a drink from the creek behind me. I have no idea what spooked them, it wasn’t me the thermals were carrying my scent the other way. Never came closer than 50 yards, but it was good to know my scouting paid off. I’m back out in Ohio, had a big doe come though. She was acting like she was being bumped but nothing followed her. It’s only a matter of time, I’m gonna keep grinding in Ohio until I meet up Witt my target buck or another mature deer.
My weather man lied. He said 100% chance of rain all day. I should have hunted this morning. Good luck guys!

We are currently in 3rd place in the contest. As long as we fill all of our doe tags and put down at least a couple of bucks then we should be in the running. The best is yet to come, I think things will heat up a lot this coming week. All the small bucks have been chasing hard here in Ohio, the big boys should start cruising any day now.
