I just got in the stand. The farmer is here cutting the corn right now. Hoping the tractor is the dinner bell.
Not sure this is gonna work for me tonight. Timing may put the combine right in front of me at prime time.
One time I shot a monster doe with the combine going right past my stand and she never gave that combine a second look.
Just had a small buck pass by but he didn't have a shot on it. Hoping that's a good sign they are moving early.
Yeah I’ve watched deer let the combine get within 40-50 yds before moving out of the way. Guess we shall see.
My next hunts will be Thursday evening and Friday morning. Saturday morning there's a good chance it will be me and the grandson again.
Got beans being cut in my field.... nervous what its gonna do to their movement Sent from my SM-G892A using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Well, no deer. But, we had a pretty awesome evening. After that small buck passed by at 5:30, nothing happened til 6:20. I even told Trevor the next deer we see will be at 6:20 and it will come from right there. Sure enough bam. Here comes a real nice 1 1/2 old. Probably had a 14" spread and 8 points. I'm guess 90-100 inches. He came in after messing around a bit but he was about 30-40 yards away and too many trees. Then another one about the same size comes in. He came to about 25 yards. Too many trees and then he turned and left. Then another one was walking behind us and Trevor got turned and he had a shot, but he said he couldn't hold the crossbow up any longer. So we tried resituating in the seat so he'd have more room so he could use the side of the stand as a rest but couldn't pull it off. He said this was more fun and exciting than actually shooting his first deer. He definitely has the fever and wants a buck so bad. I'm taking him back out Saturday morning. It should be pretty good then. Only thing is he's using up Papa's hunting time. But that's ok. We are having a blast.
Well got another stand up I know it's a little late but they don't ever seen to mind...puts me up around 18-20 ft I love my climber. The big boys should be going right in there..won't be hunting it till the weekend so plenty of time for any disturbance to settle. Good luck everyone Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
