    Sounds like liver. Probably - dead deer. Any water nearby? I livershot my ifrst archery buck. Found him dead 150 yards away in a river.

    Yeah, there were a couple dark red chunks and like I said earlier blood did not look good on the arrow. Not good water source close by. This area has a lot of buzzards but I didn't see any flying around today. Best we can do is chalk this one up as a learning experience for him. Better weather and times are ahead.

    It’s just too hot and muggy here to really enjoy hunting, since I self butcher I have to cut the deer up right away if I kill one. Not looking forward to that right now.

    I am going out tomorrow morning and I was planning on doing some evening hunting, but I think I'm holding off on my evening hunts til Thursday.

    I’m looking to buy either a deer cart or a sled to help get my deer out when I’m by myself. Any of you guys have any experience with either and which would you get, sled or cart?

    Same for me, I keep a couples with frozen gallons of water for ice blocks in my jeep in case I get something when its hot.
