I was out with my Older boys for a squirrel hunt/deer scout on some public land this morning. It is too hot out and the mosquitoes were terrible. Hoping to hunt the cold front that is supposed come in next Saturday. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Killed my biggest buck here in Ohio when it was 88 degrees. Hoping for a good one for my grandson tonight.

I called in a doe late with a fawn bleat. Pretty sure it was either a liver or gut shot. Blood was fairly dark. Hoping she stays alive awhile and she beds but doesnt doesn't go too far. Will try to find her in the morning. She headed for the corn field. I hate tracking deer through corn. Really hoping we find her for his sake. But I'm thinking it's not promising. If we do find her, depending on when she dies the meat will probably be bad. Plus good chance yotes will get to her. Got to train him right. He owes that deer everything he has to find it.
We searched every inch of that corn field. Never found another drop of blood after the last drop we found last night. It's tough on a kid losing your first deer you hit, just hope he's not too discouraged.
Last night saw 2 does and a 6 point. This morning saw nothing but rain lol Sent from my SM-G892A using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I'm going out tomorrow morning and I think after that it will be Thursday evening. Looks like temps will be dropping throughout the day on Thursday. May be a good time to be in the stand.
I think he hit her back. The doe trotted a few steps then she just walked off after he shot her. In my years of experience that means liver/gut shot. Here's the arrow.
