I’m actually pretty bummed out with my plots this year, I’m going to have to redo the soil in all of them.

Clover/chicory plot planted this year. So much grass, I think the back to back years of tilling drew up the weed seed from underground.

Big N Beasty brassica plot. Spotty, bad. Just bad.

Chicory/radish mix. The sunny spots are pretty good, the shady spots are bare.

Clover/chicory/radish/turnips. Came in slow and spotty, starting to fill out a little.

    Brassica plot. Spotty, really spotty.

Honey hole plot, last I planted this year.

My other 3 clover plots are doing “meh”.

Damn. At least you have choices lol. I’d love to have all those different spots. I’ll hunt the plots that didn’t come in well for you.

I still have 3 stands to hang, one to take down, one blind to put up and and a feeder to put up. 1 maybe 2 clover plots to plant lol. I’m never this far behind schedule.

Stinks about the plots, think the PH is out of wack? I had to lime the heck out of my acre plot a couple years ago. I too still have some stands to hang, I been just putting up climbing sticks and millennium ez hang brackets this year. Going to carry the stand in and out each time, I was sick of all my cheaper steel stands not being comfortable at all. This is the first year switching over to this setup, I also got 4 Hawk Helium sticks to use for my mobile/run and gun setup. That combo is much lighter and less cumbersome than my climber and it’s much quieter setting up.

I've got one more stand to set up. I'll probably do that in the next week or so. I'm going to overseed my one mini plot that isn't doing so well. I'll do that with our next good rain. Other than that I'll be shooting the bows, checking cams and putting out corn, apples and other attractants until the season starts.

Undoubtedly the soil PH is bad.

I have all cheap hang on stands/ladders. Around 20. I lug in so much camera equipment that I can’t take stands with me and like to get up and in quick.

I also have 4 elevated blinds for rainy days.

I used to have about 12 stands between the properties I hunt. I'm down to 7 ladders and 1 blind. I do have 1 spare hang on in case I need to hang a quick set somewhere.

Yes, I'm guessing that was due to all the rain we got in the spring. However, with how dry it's been they may start dropping early.

They are just starting to drop in Nebraska.

I've been out at our cabin with final preparation of season. Looks like I missed a bunch of posts. Way to keep this active.

Does anyone else collect acorns and use them like corn or other attractants?

Here are a couple of my small food plots I put in. They seam to be doing well. Had to cut a some weeds but I can't complain.

I got all my stands checked for shooting lanes and life lines put up. It was a pain but I am glad its done and can't wait until season starts next weekend. I'm going out with the family so I won't be able to hunt as much as I like but I will be able to get out if conditions are right.

Next weekend? You lucky dog! The only thing I don't like about that would be the heat. We have to wait 5 more weeks here in Ohio. Those plots are looking nice though.
