I am hitting that time where these deer are really frustrating lol Sent from my SM-G892A using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Are they locking down? I know that's got to be close. Usually the 3rd week of November can be difficult.
For sure. I’ve done a lot of hunting without a mature buck showing, ALOT. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
In my experience, Thanksgiving weekend can be just as good as the first 10 days of November. The bucks start really moving looking for the last receptive does.
I will finally be back in the stand this evening. I will take a buck or doe. Hopefully a nice buck will be snooping around my estrous wicks!!!!! Who else will be in the stand today?
I’ll probably try and get out this evening if the prediction for the wind is correct. It keeps changing.
Brought my little brother out for his first bow hunt. Its a perfect morning here in kansas. On a side note, im convinced one of worst pains known to man is hitting your finger while rattling Sent from my SM-G892A using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Not a single deer tonight. Was good to get back in the stand though. Ohio guys, are you seeing better movement in the mornings or evenings. This time of year I'm usually sitting at home cause my buck tag is filled. Then I do late season doe hunts to top off the freezers.
I took my boys trout fishing this morning. We caught a couple of nice ones. I may be out tomorrow if it is not raining too hard. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I am out tonight. Nothing so far. About an hour left. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Ended up seeing what I think was a decent 8 point about 100 yards away with about 20 minutes of light left. Didn’t see a doe but he acted like he was locked down with one. Completely ignored my attempt to grunt to him. On Monday, I was able to grunt a couple of bucks into bow range but did not get a shot opportunity. Looks like lockdown. Been sitting back trying to get my daughter on a deer the pass fee hunts. Saturday she got managed to get it done. She been letting does walk the past 2 years trying to get her first buck, but she couldn’t hold out any longer. 20 yard shot with the 243 and about an 80 yard track job, and we have a happy girl. My wife wants to try hunting again after not going since my oldest was a baby, so I’m picking up ground blind this week and hopefully can get her her first deer in the next couple weeks. I love hunting as much as the next guy, but I can’t pass up these opportunities with my girls. My 5 year old is ready to get out there, but she has one more year to shoot a deer here in AR.
