Things are starting to pick up, scrapes showing up all over. But all my big bucks are only showing up after dark.

I'm in the stand. Just waiting for the deer to show up and it'll be over with. Haha, I hope it'll be that easy but I doubt it. It's windy and in the 40s right now. I think when this wind dies down later the deer will pour into the beans. Good luck to everybody else that's hunting.

In a new spot, feels like a good one. All I need now is a 165" blind, deaf buck who's burnt out his sinuses on deer cane to come bed down 17 Yds from me.

I'm in the same stand as last night. I saw somewhere around 35-40 deer. 11 of them were bucks, but not what I was looking for. Maybe a big boy will come out tonight.

That's about normal this time of year. That was on the smaller of two fields on the property. In the late season there are usually a lot more on the fields. The most I ever had out on the field at one time was 117.

My wife finally put her first deer down for the year. She killed a doe this morning. It ran about 100 yards and piled up. She is one happy girl right now.

Back in the stand again, after nearly 4 weeks away. Didn't see a thing. Leaves are all gone. Pulled the card on my trail camera to find the coyotes are prowling in my area. Just wish one would come by when I am in the stand.

I will let her know everybody said congrats. Thanks for the support. I'll post a pic tomorrow if I get a chance. I have to go to a wedding here in a little bit and I don't have the camera card with me right now. We will both be back at it tomorrow again. I went and checked cameras this morning. The old 7 pointer was back again and a different buck showed up that my brother had pics of earlier this fall about 1/2 a mile away. I've decided to focus on that 7 pointer. The 9 pointer that I had my eye on is too young. I was so undecided on shooting him or not, I went with my gut feeling and I'm not going after him. So, I'm gonna go ahead and try to do the nearly impossible and kill this buck that I believe is 7.5. If another mature buck shows up while I'm hunting this old guy I will shoot it, but I'm gonna put all my focus on this old warrior.

Little brother killed a really good buck this evening. Roughly 140" 10 pt. Shot him at 4:25, ran 40 yards and piled up. That's the third P&Y buck killed by people I know today.

I am heading to my parents around noon and should be on stand at 4pm in western Wisconsin.
At about 9pm I plan on going into this swamp I just got permission to hunt and put a stand in.
Hopefully that buck will be coming back to bed late monday morning where I will have been waiting since
    4:30 am to stick him.

Rained here, so I sat in the blind overlooking the scrape today. No deer, but a dang squirrel tried to get in the blind with me... scared the bejeepers outa' me. I thought he was gonna climb the walls and tear the place apart, but the blinds fine. I guess we scared all the deer away too.

Leave tomorrow for a week of hunting in MD.
