Well, we didn't see a single deer this morning, but my wife got her first kill of the year. She got her first ever coyote this morning. It was a male with a pretty coat. She wants it mounted, so it looks like we will have more decorations for the house.

Snake, awesome yote! Gl, it happens. You will have many more chances.

I saw just little bucks and dawns this weekend. Back at it tomorrow.

Swirling wind put a damper on my hunt. Had a buck within range but the wind swirled and he winded me. Came back and winded me again. Darn valley. Saw a raccoon as round as a basketball and a doe before first light. Nothing gets the heart beating faster...bound to happen.

Saw some big boys tonight. There was a group of 5 bucks out in the beans well before dark. One nice 8 (130s), and one buck bigger than him, but I couldn't tell exactly how big. He looked to be somewhere in the mid 140s possibly. If they pull that of showing their faces in daylight that early their days could be numbered.

I'm really wanting to plant beans next year and I think we're going to go for it. Seems to be prime time for them right now before they're picked.

I see a lot more deer right now in the beans than in early season. As soon as they get cut deer will flood to the fields. Things are fixing to really pick up on the place I hunt. I'm going tomorrow morning to see if those bucks will be on the field. If so, I may try a spot and stalk if conditions are right. If not then I will see where they go and try it in the evening later this week.

Tony I'm hoping that you are dragging a monster out right now since you haven't posted anything about the evening hunt yet. I'm gonna tell myself that's the case.

HAHAHA... she did not appear. In fact - nothing appeared! Oh well, going out again tomorrow after my VA appointment. It'll be a pretty much all afternoon hunt.

I'm fixing to head back and watch the field to see if any big boys are out this morning. I already saw a decent buck where I usually park, so hopefully the other bucks will stay out long enough for me to see where they go this morning.

Haven't been out this week at all, too busy trying to figure out what car to buy for the wife. Finally done I think just need to go pay and pick it up Saturday between morning and afternoon hunts.

I did see about a 130" or so right next to my house on our way home last night. Alsost wrecked the rental car trying to watch him instead of the road.

I didn't see anything at all this morning. That was fine though because I still overmarked a scrape, hung a dripper and set up a new camera on it. It's fixing to be go time. Just IMO, I think pre rut is the best time to put down a target buck. I'm hoping for some results similar to last years.

Nothing this evening... except squirrels and raindrops. Will be going to my Amish buddy's land tomorrow for the 1st time this year.
