Thanks for all the support guys. Tony, sorry I didn't text you, I wasn't in the best of moods last night until I found her. I'll make sure and let you know next time. Hopefully it will be like last year and I will have a pic of a buck to send to you as well.

I also wanted to add that I learned a couple things last night. 1. You don't necessarily need to have a trained blood trailing dog to find a wounded deer. 2. Trust your dog; I was thinking the deer ran down a trail over to the right, but actually she ran full steam ahead into this tangle of thick crap. Daisy was trying to pull me that way the whole time, I was just being too stubborn at first to listen to her. I'm glad I finally let her lead the way. 3. Listen and look. I knew exactly where the deer ran into the woods at, and I thought that I heard her crash, but when there was no blood to follow I was screwed. Since I had a good idea of where she last was, Daisy made short work of finding her. This would work even better if you had blood to follow.

This is totally non hunting related, but I had to post it cause I'm in a good mood. I got a nice raise and promotion at work today. Definitely a good thing to come back to. I wasn't expecting it at all today.

Ok well I got tired of being cut off from half of the farm, so today I went through the standing corn and then waist high poison ivy to get to one of my favorite trees. Definitely worth the trouble. Didn't shoot anything but I found all my missing deer. Drew back on a big old doe a couple different times but was never comfortable with the shots and kept my arrow safely on the string. Still no buck sightings but things are looking up.

I am heading out to western part of Wisconsin today at my parents place to hunt. I should be on stand by 3:30pm as long as I make it a non stop 3 hour drive. I have a bad habit of stopping at a few places on the way.
The stand I will be in is where I got my 152 12 point last season. I've been watching this stand pretty good this summer from about 400-500 yards away and a lot of deer still funnel off a hill right past it. Wish me luck and good luck to everyone that will be out. Lets roll!!!

Here is a pic on where I will be at I just wish the satellite view was up to date.

Good luck peak. I won't be in the stand again until this weekend. I'll be with my wife trying to get her a deer. Good luck to everybody else as well.

Good Luck Peak! Good luck to everyone else getting out this weekend. Don't think I am going to make it to the stand this weekend. Too many things to accomplish before we leave on our trip.

Sorry for my lack of participation lately. I wasn't feeling the best and was told by our on-site clinic at work that it was just a viral infection. Rest and plenty of fluids...after a week of not getting better I went back and they took one look at the back of my throat and referred to the Ear, Nose, Throat specialist. Long story short, had an abscess drained from the back of my throat. Pain has finally started to become bearable. Missed two weekends of hunting but still have quite a few more.

I'll be in the woods tomorrow morning. I'm taking my wife again. I really hope she is able to put a doe down. I'm ready to get her a deer and then focus in on finding a buck to shoot.
