That's not bad! We've both got a good while to put one down. I'll probably shoot the first buck I see, though, I hunt public land and the pickings are fairly slim and a small 30 acre piece my uncle owns, and his brother shoots everything. I wish GA had more QDM, because in sixteen years I haven't been able to land a wall hanger and missed on my first opportunity last year. Where are you hunting? If it's a rural part near Chicago, I imagine there are some bruisers where you'll be.
I hunt with my brother bout an hour n a half south of Chicago. Small piece of property. We might do some public land. Im shootin the first anything I see. I hear a lot of nightmare storoes about pubic land
It's rough, man. I let a doe and her yearlings walk last year during the rut because I thought she had someone trailing her, and didn't see a deer on public after that. I did manage to smoke five feral pigs last deer season, though. I'm going to try out a few spots I didn't last year that virginiashadow thought would be good from looking at the topography, some deep in the woods spots that other hunters simply won't go. Basically, hunt deep. Hunt hard. Use the pressure of the other hunters to your advantage. Get in early, leave late, first one in, last out, you get the deal. If you and your bro really wanna try out the public stuff I'd post up a topography map for some of the savvy guys around here to give you some tips unless you guys have that covered yourselves.
The deep unpressured spots I hear are great. My bro is very seasoned, he could probably be a guide. I'm trying to avoid pubic land if possible. Just can't wait to get in a tree stand with live targets
I'd like to see what it looks like with the names on it, if it's too much trouble I like it fine as is.

Sup bros? I have a suggestion for team name: Hunts With Bowses. My favorite band is Guns n' Roses and every I suggest Hunts With Bowses, and every year I get shot down. I'm cool with any name and captain though. I ran this whole contest last year, so it's nice to be in it just for the fun this year. I'll be hunting in Virginia most of the year. It should be a good year. Last year we shot a 150, 130 and my dad shot an old busted up 5 or 6 year old. All were gun kills, but at least they are there. Just have to get closer to them. I'll have more food than I had last year so that should help. Late October I'll be hunting IL on a buddies farm and he's already gotten 15 bucks on trail camera in one corner of a small bean field. At least 5 or so are shooters. Hoping to tag a nice one on that trip! Other than that I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone and wish everyone a safe season!
