Sounds good! I still have to wait until October 6th here in VA. Bummer. Most states have already opened or will open on the first. It looks like a rocky moon phase around October 1, so I guess I can't really complain too much.
Nearly managed to add another 50 to our score this afternoon, 2 does and 2 fawns passed me. I came to full draw as the closest doe aimed herself toward a shooting lane, taking a few steps at a time and then pausing. . .then she skipped merrily through my lane. I still finished the sit with a smile on my face, because that stand showed a lot of promise with my scouting this summer and I finally managed to see deer out of it. If the wind is right and they show their faces in the morning I'll let you guys know ASAP.
Another plus to does still using that trail is that if they continue using it through the rut I may have a repeat of another big buck cruising through. I missed 127" of antler in that stand last season and my gun hunting uncle got him.
just 8 more days til it opens up here. hung another stand today looks to be my best setup yet. so fingers crossed for october 1st!!! rockingchair- how did you guys do out west?
Death Do Us Part! hung the last double set today on my land 36' tall and hung 4 more sets on a new 200acre that we just got big timber huge cedar bedding zone tons of huge bucks prints.....
very nice. im hoping the food plots we put in arent harmed by the frost/freeze tonight. just cant win with this weather in IL this year.
ive sat abot 30 hours so fare and nothing. my father sits same stand i do when i cant go and has seen 6 deer hopefully can get out tomorrow after noon :thumbup:
